It is a common racist slur around here.

I am a Md native, lived here 66 years. Never heard it, and I lived in many areas of Md.

Lucky you. I am also a MD native. 55 and black. I know the word.

No doubt, you have heard of it. Do not doubt your knowledge.

But do you know all of the derogatory terms used to describe other ethnic, racial, or religious groups? Would you recognize all of them? Zero chance!

NP.

Ok, so now you are trying to white-splain to a Black person what they should or shouldn’t know?

OMG.

Google tells me that bugaboo is a pricey baby stroller.

Zero chance it’s a legit racial slur if it’s an established baby gear brand.

Tromp needs to pull out of the race.

How old are the posters who insist it’s a slur?

We’re on page 11 and there’s still dumbasses who think bugaboo was the word he said.

No one cares (except maybe the Alsobrooks supporters who were never going to vote for Trone anyways).

I don’t like him, will not vote for him but I bet he didn’t mean to say it. However it’s obviously a word he thinks on his head.

If he didn’t mean to say it, he wouldn’t have said it. People are constantly defending racists. Racism is super bipartisan.

If he didn’t mean to say it, he would not have said it. Stop being a racist apologist.

I know you think this is clever, but that's not the word he said.

Oh the word he used is most definitely a racial slur.

What word did he say?

If you are white and stay clear of racism you would not know the word and you would not use it. It is very much a racial slur.

Why are people engaging in this discussion when they don’t even know the context and have the wrong word? He said it in a congressional committee hearing in a widely circulated clip that is less than a minute and very easy to view for yourself.
