That wasn't "the press" that was a french tabloid. British tabloids would never have done that. And if you can find me articles scrutinizing her everyday life choices like how the produce she buys is bad for the environment and where she puts her hands whens he walks makes her look stuck-up, I'll believe that Kate wasn't spared either. But I have not seen articles like that. |
agreed. they all have issues |
The difference is that Kate has paid her dues with more than ten years of flawless service while Meghan did nothing but complain and showboat for the instant she set foot in the Brad and bailed less than two years after joining then cashed in on her association with a family and institution she claimed to despise. |
When people refer to the press’s treatment they are talking about tabloids not the freaking Wall Street Journal/Financial Times. |
The difference is that no BBC employees publicly compared any of Kate’s kids to a a chimpanzee. Yes, that’s also a racist trope. Start there. |
Kate is known to be lazy. William too. In fact I found this article, which came out at the end of last year, talking about how little the 2 of them do compared to other members of the BRF. https://www.theroyalobserver.com/p/prince-william-kate-middleton-dismal-work-record-throughout-2023 As 2023 comes to a close, the Prince and Princess of Wales completed 172 and 123 royal duties, respectively. This is far below what some analysts say an heir to the British throne and their consort should be comfortable with. By comparison, Princess Anne will end the year with a whopping 457 engagements to her roster, while King Charles III took second place with 425 completed duties. The Princess Royal's impressive streak each year has won praise once again. |
That was awful and he was fired. |
Yes, flawless. They have carefully worked enough but have made Charles look good and have not upstaged him. Well played, W&K. |
The worst position to be in the BRF is the 2nd born. You're required to abide by all of the outdated, idiotic rules but get none of the power.
The fact that the BRF wouldn't allow Harry to step back and do his own thing once he was bumped to 4th in line to the throne is insane. Imagine being 30 and still controlled and told what to do 97% of the time just because of protocol. With all of that said, I still don't like Meghan. I think she had a princess fantasy in her head and when real life turned out to be nothing like the movies, she started doing whatever was necessary to plant the seed to leave and cultivate that growth. |
They told Harry to stay in the UK, for financial reasons. He could do anything he wanted. But there wasn't anything that Meghan could be satisfied with in the UK. So they left. |
I don't really blame Harry for thinking he's god's gift to the world. He was raised to believe he was special. Genuinely special. He was literal royalty. My nana was part of a card game group. His nana was the queen. My papa was a public school teacher. His papa was king. My dad worked until he was 74 because he couldn't afford to retire earlier. His dad only started working as king when he was 73.
Harry probably never had to physically wait in a line, save up money for toys his parents wouldnt' buy him, hope he'd get to travel out of his country of origin, cook dinner for his family as a child, frantically dust and vacuum when company was coming. He was raised spoiled by circumstances he was born into. His desire to plunge himself into the real world is admirable, especially when he did it to save his and his wife's sanity. So he's stumbled and unaware of how he comes across to plebes. He probably never spoke to regular people while he was a prince beyond them screaming his name in excitement and other positive things. This is a big change for him. |
Andrew is the child of a queen, not the child of someone who isn't in line for the throne. These are very different things. |
Can’t argue with this… |
CamCam took the blame for releasing one story about M+H he said so this time she’s out of town so it couldn’t be her |
I can argue with this. I don't think it's okay to expect MM to be treated badly because Kate was treated badly. MM does needs to "pay her dues" to be treated respectfully. We are all entitled to respect and decency in our lives from Day 1, especially from family. And we are entitled to leave a situation that does not live up to those ideals. |
