And mend your own clothes, and maintain your own car, and teach your own kids, and control your own pests. |
And it's more efficient and ecological because they shop for multiple clients. |
Walmart is free delivery and tip is ok as the food is cheaper than big chain groceries. |
This is insane. |
Who can afford Safeway prices?! |
|
Very rarely, only if I was sick or recovering from surgery.
I prefer walking around a store and picking my own items. I love wandering around and getting inspired on what to cook. |
| I’m only at the grocery store 20 minutes a week and only spend about $60-$70, sometimes even less. The bulk of our shopping happens at Costco. |
Do you own lawn care cut your own hair when does it end? |
It’s true. Delivery and curbside. Rich yuppies and suburbanites are unlikely to step into stores. It’s a waste of time for affluent Type A’s. Rich boomers still grocery shop because they don’t understand the tech and/or just want something to do. |
Walmart delivery is far cheaper than most grocery stores. So, why? |
| You know it’s free if you pick up bozos |
Well they don’t really cook, so they don’t need many groceries. They just spend all their money eating out. The groceries they have delivered are usually breakfast foods and snacks. |
Instacart absolutely has higher prices. Definitely for Wegmans, likely for other stores. Are you telling me that when Safeway delivers your groceries there are no added fees/charges/tips? Or are you conflating curbside pickup? |
Live in affluent suburbia and you're mainly babbling nonsense. Some do order food online, most do not. Nor is there a pattern to affluence and shopping. For some people, groceries and cooking is personal and they'd never trust instacart and nor would I after hearing too many stories of bags appearing at the house reeking of pot. I outsource a lot of chores and pretty much all my clothes and miscellaneous shopping is now online, but grocery shopping and cooking is a pleasant ritual and I enjoy going to my local WF and Wegmans. |
| We have only done delivery once or twice, and that was during the pandemic. We did pickup a lot for the last few years, but at this point, we only do so in an emergency/timecrunch. |
