So Melissa Barrera was fired from the Scream franchise for:

“Spyglass’ stance is unequivocally clear: We have zero tolerance for antisemitism or the incitement of hate in any form, including false references to genocide, ethnic cleansing, Holocaust distortion or anything that flagrantly crosses the line into hate speech,” a Spyglass spokesperson tells Variety.

Do you think her posts qualify as hate speech or antisemitism?

I do not. It can certainly be argued that Israel's actions meet the definition of genocide and ethnic cleansing, although you may disagree with that opinion.

These terms are being weaponized, cruelly, against Jews who were the subjects of ethnic cleansing and genocide - the systematic eradication of 5 million of them in WWII and prior (ethnic cleansing and systematic killing of Jews goes way back, unfortunately). I’m grateful that people are being called out for this.

Jews were not the only people in which ethic cleansing and genocide has been committed against. Unfortunately, the Jewish people do not have an exclusive use of that word. What happened to Jews during WWII was horrific, but the European Roma people also experienced genocide during WW2, yet people rarely mention them.

Jews were the overwhelming number of victims of the Holocaust. It doesn’t negate the deaths of gays, Roma people, and others who were murdered. But to pretend that Jews were not the primary targets to the tune of 5 million people, isn’t factual.

But there’s a real desire to neutralize the Holocaust in order to justify antisemitism and anti- Israeli sentiment.

More Russians died in ww2 than Jews

They were not only Russians, they were Soviets - many other ethnic groups. Yes, many died but they were at war. Do you know the difference between killed fighting at war and mass-murdered at genocide?

Does the IDF?

The IDF is fighting a war against a terrorist group that insists on using men, women, and children as human shields. Same terrorist troop that hacked children to death and shot elderly people on 10/7.

The IDF shoots children all the time, no big deal. Apparently shooting a 2 year old is worthy of a reprimand

"The Israeli military admitted Wednesday that it had shot and killed a Palestinian toddler in the occupied West Bank by mistake earlier this month — a rare acknowledgement of wrongdoing.

After an initial investigation into the killing, the Israeli military said it would reprimand one of the officers involved in the killing. The military said it hadn’t yet decided whether to proceed with a criminal investigation into the child’s death.

Rights groups contend the Israeli military does too little to investigate and punish its soldiers for the killing of Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, creating a pattern of impunity."

That’s from June. It doesn’t make the point you think it does in comparison with what Hamas hath wrought.

The Oscar winner, 77, has attended several rallies in New York where she joined in the chant 'from the river to the sea,' a battle cry used by pro-Palestinian activists and Hamas alike that many view as an anti-Semitic call for the destruction of Israel.

In further shocking new remarks, Sarandon said at a recent rally: 'There are a lot of people afraid of being Jewish at this time, and are getting a taste of what it feels like to be a Muslim in this country.'

She joined the crowd in chanting “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” – which is largely regarded as an antisemitic slogan that implies the decimation of Israel – before addressing the group herself.

The group also denounced Mayor Eric Adams, Gov. Kathy Hochul, and demanded that President “Genocide Joe” Biden “has got to go” for several minutes.

This is not helped by the failure of some of our heroes - like President Obama- to denounce the October killings in a forthright manner.

Anti-semitism has been growing in the shadows and now it’s appeared like black mold on our college campuses, our city streets and our social media.

Anyone, like this individual, wandering around with a worldview that characterizes Susan Sarandon as a “vicious anti semite” based on her recents comments is part of a movement that everyone else should be forcefully arraying against.

This worldview is a symptom of derangement. It’s only a diseased mind that could possibly view her actions and words through that kind of lens. Who cares whether she’s A list or C list. She said nothing wrong.

Righteous people? Condemnation … for having compassion? Just bizarre.

Involuntary mental health treatment or “neutralization”. Anything short of that doesn’t go far enough, and allows this sickness to fester.

You don’t find anything wrong in suggesting that Jews deserve to live in fear of violence and bigotry - as if they hadn’t well before 10/7?

That’s not compassion, that’s revolting ignorance and bigotry.

Israelis that were raped, murdered, and /or kidnapped didn’t deserve what happened to them on 10/7. And Jews in the United States who have encountered rising rates of violence and antisemitism through the decades also don’t need this “lesson” in fear.

So maybe think again of who is guilty of mental derangement.

All of us live alongside Jews and, to a lesser extent, Muslims. To suggest that the former group is subjected to even a tiny fraction of the abuse and torment that the latter group is exposed to day in and day out is laughably out of touch with reality in the U.S.

The statistics on hate crimes don’t bear that out, at all. And of course globally the story is totally different. 15 million Jews, 1.8 BILLION Muslims. The viewpoint that Jews are some kind of master race is, well …

It's 2023- why should Israeli policy be linked the the Holocaust?

Because Holocaust denial fuels antisemites. Any other questions?

Interesting, you seem wildly out of touch with reality - and facts.

First, many of us live alongside Muslims.

Second, Jews have been chronically subjected to antisemitism and hate crimes for decades (centuries) in the US with rates rising over the last decade - 2022 saw a spike in hate crimes.

According to the FBI, hate crimes against Jews far outnumbered those against other religious groups. Some highlights - or more accurately, lowlights - of statistics from the FBI pasted below.

Perhaps educate yourself. Jews don’t need a lesson in fear.

Key Findings and Trends

Increase in Hate Crimes: The data reveals that hate crime incidents increased by 794 in 2022. There were 11,634 cases, compared to 10,840 in 2021.

Race-Based Crimes: Hate crimes rooted in race, ethnicity or ancestry remain the most common. There were 6,557 reported incidents in 2022.

Anti-Black or African American incidents —numbering 3,421 — were more than three times higher than the next highest racial or ethnic category.

Religion-Based Crimes: There were 2,042 reported incidents based on religion. More than half of these (1,122) were driven by anti-Jewish bias. Incidents involving anti-Muslim (158) and anti-Sikh (181) sentiments remained at similar levels compared to 2021.

LGBTQI+ Targeted Crimes: Incidents targeting gay men reached 1,075, while anti-lesbian incidents numbered 622. Both categories recorded their highest totals in the past five years and increased by more than 10% since 2021. A significant increase of nearly 40% was observed in reported anti-transgender incidents (totaling 338) compared to 2021.

Don’t let inconvenient details get in the way of data that vastly under-reports Islamophobic crime, like (1) the fact that every form of abuse and torment isn’t criminally codified or prioritized by law enforcement (Exhibit A: Most of us assumed that Stu Weldowitz’s “full Stewy” display in NYC was not going to even amount to criminal investigation, much less prosecution); (2) the relative level of trust of law enforcement by different groups, for very good reason, unfortunately; and certainly influencing reporting patterns; (3) systemic Islamophobia in law enforcement agencies across the U.S., and (4) the propensity of one particular group to overstate, inflate, exaggerate, and over-report anyone so much as looking at them the wrong way. No, those realities definitely cannot influence the data you shared.

Ohhhhhh, so the statistics don’t fit your narrative so they are wrong.

Do you imagine that Jews report all hate crimes? These numbers of hate incident are then likely even higher.

And there isn’t systematic anti-semitism in law enforcement? Have you seen the white nationalist power movement sweeping the country. They don’t care for Jews much either.

And then the complete bigotry of the part I bolded - that these confirmed hate crimes are Jews who just exaggerate what’s happened to them because someone looked at them the wrong way.

You are Exhibit A. Thanks for confirming my point. Hate against Jews is alive and well.

There was absolutely no reference to 'chosen people' in Stewy's rant. The fact is, a lot of people, including many muslims who know the details of how islam is practiced abroad do agree with him. But cultural relativists in this country accept the subjugation and mistreatment of women over there, because it's not happening over here. They've admitted so in this forum.

Stewy was unfair to lay all that on the shoulders of one food cart owner. But point out to me what he said that was factually incorrect, first.

Which parts of his rant do you think were correct?

Which parts do you agree with? Since you said a lot of people agree with him?

"Stewey" threatened the cart guy's family with the Muhabaret. He said he was friends with the Egyptiam secret police and would get them to go after the cart guy's family.
