2028 Girls Lacrosse

St James League pool/schedule looks interesting for 2028s.

Local 2028 teams from clubs like Stars, Pride, and 3D Maryland (new team which had a good Fall), with multi-year club teams Cav Lax Elite, and Next Level (Spartans) (looks like 27s-28s maybe), mixing it up with high school JV (9th and 10th graders) from Meridian, Langley, and Madison, and some privates, including Holton Arms.

Just a guess at this point, but the competitive balance looks like it may be better than last year's 7/8 pool at St James for the the 2028 club teams, and always good to play older girls and get experience with the strength and speed.

The high school JV teams most likely will include players with little to no lacrosse experience who are planning to tryout in the Spring. Will probably not be great competition.

A lot of good talent also playing basketball so the winter league will not be indicative of what the spring will look like. St James indoor is strictly for fun, not expecting even competition.

Yes there is an equivalent indoor league in Baltimore and the 2028 teams (including clubs B teams like MDU West and Skywalkers White) and crushing the high school JV teams. Would be much better competition if they played each other.

Yes, agreed. I saw Heros Green won 36-6. Barely even fun

Pretty thorough disagreement with the PP who suggested that the competitive balance might be better this year for the 2028 club teams at St James Winter League this year. Fair points.

I would offer that there were plenty of 30s to single digit scores for Stars and Pride in the 7/8s Winter League bracket last year, when they were playing other clubs, so it's unlikely to get worse. And the high school's involved, like Langley and Madison, have good lacrosse programs and youth rec feeders, not to mention a number of club players. Certainly depends on who shows up for a winter league with conflicts and all, but I like to be optimistic.

Coppermine has an indoor league that was well run and super competitive with all the top programs there. But for some reason they do not have it for the 8th grade teams making them play in this BWI league against not as strong competition. Seems like it would be better for Coppermine (and their 2028 team) to offer it for 8th grade as well.

Not a fan of Battlefield, but definitely not taking this bait. We just got our 2028 thread back. Do not agitate the Battlefield fans! Losing in the state finals the last two years, with a very close game against Oakton last year, means they don't and won't suck. But we don't need to hear about it for the next 10 pages, so stop trolling them.

As a Vienna fan, who did not post the original, both of these comments are funny and the kind of intelligent banter that we want.

I, for one, appreciated the tough competition at Fall Brawl, but certainly an interesting interpretation of the rules on team composition. I've somehow missed this strong FPYC team over the years in NVYLL... Great Falls appeared to address it successfully, however.
