I'm pp and I'm a (liberal) Christian. You missed my point, which is that the people trying to stop athletes from talking about their faith are being hypocritical about free speech. On this point, I think we both agree. |
So sorry, I completely misunderstood. Please accept my apology. |
Apology accepted, thanks! |

Reminds me of this SNL skit:

I say yes to this. And it extends to people who believe that god/Jesus played a role in surgical outcomes, legal proceedings, finding parking spots and pretty much anything that happens in life. Note that it's usually only the positive elements of life. For some reason, god/Jesus seem to have nothing to do with the negative, which I find odd. |
As an attorney, I see this a lot. I have had cases that I worked hours on. When I tell the client about an approval/positive outcome, they'll say something to the effect of "God has been merciful" or "Jesus has saved us". I find it maddening because I'd love to respond that no I actually did all the work and it wasn't anything close to a miracle. But alas, I find not responding to such claims to be the best course of action |
Do they pay you? How much do you charge per hour? What percentage do you take from the money they recover? What’s your net worth vs your typical client’s net worth? It’s rich that an attorney charging clients hundreds of dollars per hour is jealous because some clients are thankful to God for the outcome of their case. You get paid, and you know as an attorney multiple things can occur to mess up even an airtight case. Are you doing all pro-bono work? Maybe take only non-believers as your pro-bono clients if so. They won’t be thankful to God and you can feel satisfied all the glory is yours. Or do all your work pro-bono and tell your clients you are actually saving them. That way they have to recognize God had nothing to do with it- it was just you. But then you wouldn’t get paid. You want their money and won’t work one second without getting paid- so that’s out. |
omg some people thank God daily for the things they perceive to be blessings in their lives? Wth is wrong with people? Don’t they know we came from nothing, are nothing, and we will rot in the ground forgotten after we die painfully? I hope you tell them these facts, and remind them when bad things happen God not only allowed it to happen, He made it happen. He saw them eat a grape at Walmart before paying- no good parking spot for you, Wanda. God has a scorecard on everybody and keeps track. I mean, if He existed- and he definitely doesn’t exist. |

They are evangelizing |
How do you know that? Are you a Christian? |
DP. What does that matter? None of your business. |
| the coach of the NY Jets is Muslim and Jesus is really cursing them. |
Rather it’s not pp’s business. |
Or he’s a crappy coach. |
No, why does it matter if they are a Christian? |
