Thoughts on Emory

Stop bring in Northeastern and spread false claims while there are real cheater schools like Emory, Berkeley, Columbia, etc. with Emory being the #1 cheater school. People are shameless.

So, then why is it ranked #55 by USNEWS (vs. #24 for Emory), #138 by Wall Street Journal (which cares a ton about job success from colleges; BTW this is over 80 slots lower than Emory at #42), and #166 by Payscale which measures only early-career and mid-career median earnings (vs. #110 for Emory...which admittedly is nothing to brag about either).

Literally...why is it ranked lower than every school you mention above in every ranking?

We have actual better data for salary outcomes by the Department of Education.
Northeastern beats Emory on every major metrics.
Emory is the biggest cheater school of all time.

I notice you have nothing to refute the PP that Northeastern is ranked lower by every ranking there is. Again, why is that?

Here's another...Poets & Quants ranks Emory business program at #13 and Northeastern at #15. At least it's close...but NEU loses once more.

Ooops...here's another one...Forbes ranks Emory at #66 and NEU at #85...gosh darn it, NEU just can't stop losing.

Yup business is Emory's strength but only marginally better than Northeastern, even for Business.

Here are some other rankings

Feeder to Tech

Northeastern #6

Feeder to Engineering
https://www.collegetransitions.com/dataverse/top-feeders-engineering
Northeastern #14

Emory is not there of course.

So…that’s all you have? No reputable 3rd party ranking of the school overall?

Again…you have nothing?

You and Emory are obsessed with those random magazine rankings.
That's why Emory committed the biggest cheating for those magazine rankingings.
Pathetic. Smart people make decisions based on actual real data.

Oxford college students have the same, if not higher, stats...It's just a liberal arts college.

But still, great point. That 1/100th of one grade point probably results in a massive differential from one campus to the other.

Yup 2 yesrs in the middle of nowhere.

Compared to that, 1 semester or 1year study abroad in the places like London, Paris, Madrid etc. even Oakland sound better and student stats are not significantly lower, just a fraction like you said.

Yes, at a school outside the Top 50. Northeastern is a forgettable name on any resume, and will never be what Emory is.
Now can we get back on topic please!

Northeastern literally beats Emory on almost all major metrics.

- Cohort Quality
https://www.businessinsider.com/the-50-smartest-colleges-in-america-2016-10
Northeastern: T25 based on test scores before the pandemic when it was mandatory.
Emory: #44 with 1380

- Retention Rate
https://www.usnews.com/best-colleges/rankings/national-universities/freshmen-least-most-likely-return
Northeastern: #3 with 98%
Emory: 95%

- Graduation rate
https://www.collegeraptor.com/college-rankings/details/GraduationRate6Year/
Northeastern: 91%
Emory: 90%

- Outcome (6-year-out by Department of Education)
https://collegescorecard.ed.gov/
Northeastern: $93K
Emory: $80K

- Acceptance rate:
Northeastern: very low as you all know and lower than Emory

BS doesn't work anymore.
We live in the 21st century.

You're using unreachable 3rd party sites, knowingly giving false information. If you think Emorys avg test score was a 1380 in 2019, you're a Dummy.
https://provost.emory.edu/planning-administration/data/factbook/index.html

2018 SAT

Emory
Verbal 25%: 660, 75%: 730
Math 25%: 690, 75%: 790

Northeastern
Verbal 25%: 670, 75%: 750
Math 25%: 690, 75%: 790

Northeastern still beat Emory.

Based on cohort quality + acceptance rate + yield rate, Northeastern is more selective.

By 20 points, you're a loser. Emory students come from wealthier backgrounds and private schools. That's quality. Get over it.

You have me wrong…I don’t care about Emory so I did some investigating to see if there was any 3rd party source to backup your claims for NEU.

It’s frankly embarrassing that there is not a single one that shows NEU higher.

Funny thing, DS and I visited Northeastern a few months ago and the admissions officer (or professor not sure which) railed against Emory, while speaking on rankings. Seems like many Northeastern affiliates have something against Emory.

Liar like the cheater Emory

Northeastern is barely a top 10 ranked school in Massachusetts.
After Harvard, MIT, Williams. Amherst. Boston College. Tufts, and Wellesley.
While Emory is the best in its state, it could never be what Emory is.
