Losing My Religion is definitely about love/heartbreak |

The living Years - Mike and the Mechanics.
Beautiful song written by a son who lost his father but had a complicated relationship with him. “Every generation Blames the one before And all of their frustrations Come beating on your door I know that I'm a prisoner To all my Father held so dear I know that I'm a hostage To all his hopes and fears I just wish I could have told him in the living years” |
And SHE is so ALIVE! I should be so lucky, at any age. |
Agreed on The Last Great American Dynasty. It makes me smile whenever I hear it. |
| Isha Yiras Hashem wrote a modesty song. |
The Best Day and Never Grow Up also. I figured since we’re already crying this morning. Time to put on some Cranberries and time travel to my freshman year of high school now!! |
|
Closer to Fine Indigo girls Stockton Gala Days by 10000 maniacs (friendship not romantic love I thought) |
I wouldn’t call any of these except American Dynasty ‘beautiful’ songs. Follow instructions. |

Vince Gill’s Go Rest High on That Mountain
Maybe on the religious side, but a beautiful song nonetheless. |

Start Small, Think Big by Michael Franti.
Many others by him as well. |
Wow, Blue Rodeo! I had a friend in college 30 years ago who introduced me to them - and I've never heard them mentioned by anyone else. Are you Canadian? |

Let The Mystery Be - it was the theme song to The Leftovers, so I guess it does have some heartbreak in it, but it's not heartbreak over romantic love. It's heartbreak over the fact of mortality. And it's a GORGEOUS song. |

+2 - listening to the CD a hundred times over in my dorm room. My poor roommate. (Not just for that, but that's another thread!) |
