SAT 8/26/23 -- What did your kid think?

I read the comments on Reddit. It sounds like a very generous curve for writing and math. Good luck to those still waiting.

Test optional.

Stop the angst. It will be okay. There's a college for everyone.

not everyone can or wants to pay huge $$$ for some podunk shithole. some people need merit money and that's where the SAT comes in, so please, stop the generalizations and unwanted patronizing advice.

Me again. DS ended up with an 1180, which I am trying very hard to convince him is a great success (I think successfully). I have to say I was really surprised to see that while a 1000 is in the 48th percentile an 1180 is in the 78th - a much bigger jump than I would have guessed.

My DS got the same. While he was prepping he was getting 1390 on practice tests. He said on the day that in a flurry, he put the answers in the wrong place on the paper score sheet. So he's taking it again in November.
