Posts are getting deleted, friends.

When they hired this guy for the Paint Branch job, did they not look in his file? This seems so BASIC!

They have all kinds of systems for complaints. All kinds of processes. They all essentially go in the trash can.

People must have known about this guy. It’s like Harvey Weinstein (not saying this guy went to that level but just that everyone knew). But with HW he was the boss. This guy was not the boss! It’s insane.

Funny he says this now when he kept trying to silence teachers speaking on behalf of MCEA just a few months ago!

Doesn't he have kids in private school? What's it to him?

Anyway, statements are just that: statements. Rather meaningless words despite the strategically selected tough-guy talk.

We need action.

Principal Bully/Harasser must go. Everyone is replaceable, especially people who lack judgement and abuse their authority.

Superintendent Protector must go as well. Thank her for her service, pay her off, and recruit someone new to lead...and hold them accountable.

Mark my words — nothing will happen. JB will leave - May be gone already, but other than that, ZIPPO

The article said it's now been referred to the county inspector general. That's not central office.

The fox article, quoting an MCPS statement, said MCPS is hiring an external firm. That’s not the OIG.

The Post article: "The district said it asked the county’s inspector general to look into the matter"

They seem to have changed their story today.

That is up to Michaels Simmons and Greg Edmundson who should be directly responsibility and the most heat for this. Their names should be plastered all over the news regarding the gross mishandling of this scandal

This was written by Khalid Walker or his partner/friend. Khalid should have disagreed with his superiors if they told him this case was closed. Otherwise, Khalid is just collecting a paycheck.

How do you know he didn't?

Michaele Simmons had the ultimate say as she reviews every claim and determines whether they go forward or not

They are switching to “protection from legal liability”. The last thing they want is true investigations into coverups. Imagine what else could turn up. There is no reason for them to take the risk.

So in essence, Khalid and his office couldn't do a job they are paid to do, so now we are spending more $$$ and bringing in an external entity. It sounds like Khalid's position and office should be terminated. Give the funding to the special education office.

A sick misuse of funding AND human resource. Disgusting

Make me wonder what other complaints staff have attempted to bring forward to MCPS and were tossed aside with no regard. I bet there are hundreds of staff who have deserved better

I'm sure. I'm not even an MCPS teacher and I'm aware of two cases in which female teachers tried to report sexual harassment and/or groping and they were unsuccessful in being taken seriously.

McKnight interviews every potential principal appointee, but has the power to veto ones that she feel aren't the best fit for the community or the role in general. Appalling that all these complaints were out there and she ignored it, and even more egregious that she blindly trusted the people under her. As a business leader, I obviously delegate to the people around me, but I'm hands on and will make gut decisions based on how information is lining up if needed -- every single time -- with no regrets.

My heart goes out to the victims of this nonsense. Nobody deserves to be harassed in their place of work. Also feel sad for PB, because this is the 3rd principal (about to be 4th) that they've had since the pandemic. They're a proud community and don't deserve this turnover. Hopefully, the right decision is made here.

Very disturbing allegations against current administrator of Paint Branch HS, who was formerly at Farquhar MS, Joel Beidleman. I wonder what MCPS will do about this.

Given the nature of the allegations, parents should ask their daughters what interactions they had with this predator

I think we all know why this guy was allowed to get away with predatory behavior for so long. Absolutely disgusting and also compelling grounds to terminate McKnight immediately as superintendent.

The worst part? McKnight was definitely in on it. She worked at Ridgeview from 2011-2016, so her last year before central office overlapped with his 1st year as principal at Farquhar. There's no way she didn't know about his behavior or hear about it at the very least, because they're all in the same Professional Learning Community. Also, there are few Black administrators, let alone principals -- she was absolutely in on this.
