People who make silly statements like that have clearly never even been on campus. The highway is a complete non-issue.

You mean just as they do at the vast majority of large schools? Oh. The campus is still the campus whether one lives on or off.

My kid. He lived Colgate and Bucknell since the kids stayed on campus on the weekends. He did not like UVA and the sprawl. |

Oh boy, another person making this claim. Hint: the highway at JMU does not bisect the quad or any part of the campus. It merely separates the lovely West Campus from the more modern East and has several pedestrian bridges and tunnels to easily access either side. It is a complete non-issue for anyone who actually attends JMU.
And Virginia Tech is a beautiful campus full of gothic architecture and surrounded by mountains.
