That is not my assumption. I’m asking, what happens if he is not removed (which is within the realm of possibility). Are there any additional moves DCPS can take to make the situation better?
Which teachers are leaving? |
You must be new here. This is DCPS. The Instructional Superintendents are DCPS insiders whose main qualification is being well regarded and connected in Central. Their core competencies seem to be intimidating independent thinkers and punishing anyone who does not fall in line. Coaching and development are not core. |
This is NOT the principal’s fault. New flash—-edibles, fights, weed, Tik Tok and Instagram are in an every school— even Hardy. Privilege does not protect your kids. Parent them!! This is definitely hysteria. The pandemic has been a difficult time for everyone, students have been particularly affected. Many have experienced loss, isolation, and disruptions to their education. It is showing in every single school. Stop scapegoating this man and let’s try to help him. All my interactions with him has been positive. He is trying. And yes— I think race is a factor. People are shook that Hardy has a Black principal. I was around for other Hardy principals—they were okay. |
Do you have a child at the school? Are you a teacher? if not... |
Rarely have I seen a better example of deflection of responsibility. “All MS are dangerous! It’s the parents’ job to protect kids, not the school!” “The pandemic was disruptive! Not at all the fault of the schools for closing!” “The school’s failures aren’t the principal’s fault! It’s just that you’re racist! |
What? Deal has a black principal. JR has a black principal. MacArthur will have a black principal. The Chancellor is black. The Mayor is black. You really think the reason people are upset about the Hardy principal is because he's... black? They are "shook" that he specifically is black because most similarly situated people in DCPS are... also black? Not everything is about race. |
Clearly, this has nothing to do with Hardy and is just bad parenting. |
Why can't the parents just be less involved?! |
You are accusing people you have not ever met of racism. Say what you write here in person and see what happens, clown. |
What? If you've never been reassigned or outright fired from a job after less than a year in the position, good for you. Many of the rest of us have. It's not a fun experience when your boss concludes that you don't have what it takes after a few months or even weeks on the job, but that's life in the American labor market. Why do you think principals - whose competence affects the safety and learning of hundreds of kids - should be held to a more lax standard? |
Go back and read the first thread ever about mcarthurs principal |
The questions about his experience and education? His force of personality seems to be winning over people, as it apparently did the selection committee. |
I hate to shatter your worldview, but some of the biggest public proponents of Principal McCray are also the biggest public opponents of Principal Johnson. McCray will know personally at least three of the six speakers on Monday night. |
You're not shattering my worldview at all. I was responding to a person who claimed that ppl on this site couldn't be capable of racism based on their comments re: MacArthur |
What is happening on Monday night? |
