Ah, yes. The age-old story of the struggling wealth manager and his ailing children. LOL. There are loads of other truly self made artists that you could use as a poster child for rags to riches success (see Eminem, Jay Z, Oprah, James McAvoy, Jim Carey, etc.) but Taylor Swift is most definitely not one of them. Why do her fans feel the need to legitimize her that way? It is unnecessary. She is an extremely privileged rich kid who made it BIG. Let that be enough. |
| Dh bought tickets for me and my daughter for $3k each. We have a $2m HHI. |

I think a lot of people were able to buy tickets for face value and that was more reasonable.
Many young professionals will splurge on this experience. For other teens, this splurge is their birthday or graduation or other big gift. |
Obviously you can easily afford this splurge and more power to you. Absolutely no snark. But doesn’t it still bother you just a little that it’s $6k? Just because I can afford something doesn’t mean I don’t find it somewhat obscene that it costs as much as it does. And the fees! I absolutely hate Ticketmaster. |
Dh was originally going to buy 6k tickets. I told him that was too much even though we could afford it. The 3k tickets were more like $2200 before fees. I don’t know the exact price since he bought it. |
You know what is unnecessary? You’re continuing to comment on this thread when you clearly just dislike her. She is self-made, by many objective definitions. She isn’t less self-made because you dislike her. |
