1) there is not a single study that demonstrates that bike lanes hurt businesses and to the contrary, they are at worst, neutral to businesses and in most cases, are better for businesses. Please show proof of the bolded.
2) if opponents are suggesting that the bikers use sidewalks, that by definition means they support the removal of the outdoor seating that is part if what makes the commercial areas great. Neither the businesses nor the cyclists support that.

Businesses have already said they need MORE parking for CARS, not less. Less parking, less cars means less customers. Sorry but bikes are in the minority. That's reality. More people drive.

That isn't what every neighborhood study shows. The MAJORITY of the people walk, with the rest relatively evenly divided betweem mass transit, cycling and driving. Only one of these modes requires excessive storage in public space.

I would also add that the parking lot at the Park and Shop in Cleveland Park is almost always empty. If parking were in such high demand, we would see that lot full more frequently than we ever do. As such, I challenge the assertion that we need more parking in Cleveland Park.

I was just at the Park & Shop yesterday, and I got the second to last spot there. Not always empty.

Most of these are over a six-year span, fwiw. Also, the K Street project involves rebuilding the whole road, including a bus rapid transitway in the middle of the street, so I guess you can say that's primarily a bike project, but if you do, it's sort of hard to take your claim seriously.

The City’s budget is deep in the red. The DC Council is prioritizing restoring funding for schools due to change in formulas and emergency rental assistance. Add to that all of the unfunded bills from last FY that never got implemented and the disagreement around funding and implementation of the fare free bus program.

How narcissistic do you have to believe that the city should and will cut any of those things to prioritize bike lanes in upper NW?

That is more a pedestrian safety issue, but sure, blame it on the cyclists.

Pedestrians are not the ones pushing to eliminate the right turn on red. The cyclists are.

Everyone should push to eliminate right on red. We've known since the late 1970s that it's dangerous. For pedestrians, for bicyclists, for drivers who don't want to hit pedestrians or bicyclists, for drivers who don't want other drivers to hit them.

This is only part of one year’s worth of funding. DC has been doing this for almost 20 years.
