No, you're a good family. But if your daughter is not poly, it's unlikely that another family would want to marry her.

I just read Jeff's recap and wonder if this is the post that made him laugh out loud!

It gave me a good chuckle, thanks PP

This is the correct answer.

??? Even if they are prized "members" of the family, cats must not be elevated too high. There are other, better, ways to evaluate a family.

Because good families usually:

have two or more good cars
have someone who cooks
believe in history
are able to keep important materials safe
think with their hands
can shape outcomes
do not disrupt any kind of proceeding
recycle coins for higher value metals
do not countenance divorce

Less important, but still important, good families generally:

own a painting
do not play music loud
are careful when moving furniture
eat but don't crave shellfish
recognize law enforcement officers by name.

"Good family" only really matters when you are trying to decide whether to let your child marry someone. There are just a few criteria that would lead most people to say "Okay, you can marry him/her, they seem to come from a good family!" rather than "No way, those people are trash, if you go ahead with this your father and I won't be at the wedding and you are out of the will! And we will no longer pay for your cell phone either!"

I thought I married a good family but now I’m not so sure.

Money does not buy class. Look at the Kardashians.

You’re insane if you don’t think the Kardashians are a “good family.” At least one or two of the girls are self-made billionaires; they’re world-famous and have status that you can only dream of.

Multiple divorces, children out of wedlock, lawsuits

Self made lol nothing would be possible without mama Jenners help. They got their start because they were already rich to begin with thanks to their daddy who Kris Jenner cheated on. Also you're lame for looking up to the baboon butts as idols.

Money and celebrity = good family? Michael Jackson had those too but I'm not sure people could say he came from a good family nor created one himself. And we're not even including the posthumous allegations against him.

It would seem that there are way more character traits than just money and celebrity status to be considered having come from a "good family".

Side note, but there’s a certain type of ambitious girl stage mom that makes their life’s mission raising daughters who are going to be rich either through marriage, marketing etc. Kris J and Carole Middleton are good examples. They’re less successful with their sons.

Boom!! so true.
