2023 Oscar fashion thread!

Another great understated dress that is doing everything right for the wearer. Phoebe Waller-Bridge in Dolce. I think she is among the best "bob and red lip" in the game, though Michelle Williams has also been rocking that styling for years really well.

It's bananas to change between walking the carpet and... sitting down. Even if she's presenting, it's too much. Just pick a dress. This isn't your night -- you aren't nominated.

Maybe she saw the reviews, like Jennifer Hudson who ditched that horrible cape?

Too late, girl, too late. No one will care about what she changed into. We're all going to remember that hideous white thing though.

Agree. All that weight loss has gone to her head.

Salma, I'm sorry: you look tacky.

Gorgeous!

Also tacky: Kate Hudson. I generally give women who've had babies recently a lot of leeway on the red carpet because I think it's a hard time to turn out like this, but this is just lazy.

Loved her look last night with the tweed suit look.

I would have liked this more if it was simply sleeveless on both sides. I don't care for the one long sleeve. She looks great though.

Her hair is terrible.

Her hair and makeup are so understated tonight. Last night at a pre party her hair and makeup were full glam. And really pretty.

The gown is gorgeous but those aren’t her colors.

Does this mean I’m officially old and out of touch when most of the actresses aren’t even remotely familiar to me?

Oh I love her so but this is bad.

More white/beige/cream. What is happening with the train? It looks like someone put it in a ponytail holder to keep it together. She always looks really beautiful on the red carpet to me but also dour. I think it's because she avoids smiling due to her teeth. I don't think she's self-conscious -- she could of course choose to fix them and chooses not to. But I think it's a conscious choice from her style team to preserve a certain image for the red carpet (she embraces the wonky teeth for roles).

Yes, this whole thing is not as good as the sum of its parts.

I mean, yes. Most of these are people who are nominated or in nominated films, or otherwise very successful in recent years in terms of movies or TV. If you aren't recognizing like 80% of these you must not watch many current movies.

Disagree. She has no curves, so this straight dress isn’t flattering.

Still, this dress is so sweet on her and the color is phenomenal. I love literally everyone who went for a giant gown in a vibrant color, it just makes me smile. That's what I'd do if for some weird reason I was invited to the Oscars and allowed to wear whatever I wanted. It's the fantasy.

Just watched JLC on stage and I think hers are pleats and not boning? Phoebe Waller Bridge’s boning also looks great.
Actually here it looks like an appliqué?
