Unhappy that "y'all" is everywhere

Anonymous
I grew up in DC. My family always said "you all" for groups of people, never for a single person. And never "y'all." I'm 80 now and still say " you all."

y’all isn’t offensive.

Offensive? Oh my..

Hey guys!

- is not offensive.

every single person who worked tables has been told not to use hey guys. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1kFkmEMLrY

Hey guys is gendered. It will offend some people.

I have never thought of “Hey you guuuuys” as the least bit gendered. And I’ve worked a lot with Girl Scout groups where everyone was female and we all said hey guys to each other. Lots of words in English have more than one meaning.

Wow, as a troop leader, I would NEVER use "you guys" for my troop members. That's so wrong.

I’m a NY’er originally, “you guys” is hard-wired in me. I’m also a Gen-X feminist who came around to ya’ll b/c it’s non-gendered.

Can’t believe anyone is pissed about ya’ll

No one is pissed about ya'll, they're pissed about y'all.

Typical uninformed new yorker
