OP harshing on Northeastern again. Northeastern grads laughing all the way to the bank. Same with UVA, and a couple of other "favorites" of OP. Sorry, not sorry OP! |
Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford, MIT, Caltech, Columbia, UPenn, Duke, UChicago, Dartmouth, Northwestern, Brown, Cornell, Johns Hopkins, Berkeley, Williams, and Amherst. What is the relevance of attending UCB or not? Berkeley is elite (or at least it was). Williams and Amherst are clearly elite and top 2 SLACs. What is your grouse with my list? |
DP. I don’t really understand the criteria for your list. Some of these schools are quite different from one another. Can you specify your criteria for inclusion? |
What is your method for the list? |
If that were the case, student survey types of questions for undergraduate satisfaction would be higher. Berkeley uses the undergraduates as the booster stage to put graduate programs and research into orbit. |
Undergraduates that go on to win Nobel Prizes? Not even in the ballpark of many other schools. |
A list of elite schools without reference to programs is absurd. The program is key. If you were interested in a PGM program, not one of the schools on your list would be of the least interest. On the other hand, you'd be thrilled to be admitted to PSU or Clemson. |
ELITE set:
top of top: HYPSM Mid: Caltech, Columbia, Chicago, Wharton Lower-tier Ivy + Ivy Equivalents: Penn (non-Wharton), Brown, Dartmouth, Cornell, Northwestern, Duke, Hopkins |
remove Cornell |
Seriously. Someone who barely outsells Phyllis can get in. |
Chicago is lower-tier. |
Lol…..there is no methodology. These imbeciles treat college rankings as a hobby. The irony is that none of these rubes would have been admitted to any of the schools they fantasize about. |
I can at least agree with this. All the weirdo “b-b-but WashU is elite too” set are living in la la land. |
This obsession with elite schools is out of hand. If companies only target these “top” schools then something is wrong with this country. There are smart hardworking students all over this country going to all kinds of schools. The Ivys are not really any better than state schools. Watching so many elites getting their kids in again and again just shows what these schools are like. |
I demand a list of the bottom of the Top of the Top and then the middle of that slice. That's the only way to do this. Anything short of that is for plebes and strivers |
