Berkeley has the best academic programs all around of any universities - STEM, humanities, social sciences, law, business, medicine (UCSF). Idiots only know about silly domestic USNWR.

If that were the case, student survey types of questions for undergraduate satisfaction would be higher. Berkeley uses the undergraduates as the booster stage to put graduate programs and research into orbit.

A list of elite schools without reference to programs is absurd. The program is key. If you were interested in a PGM program, not one of the schools on your list would be of the least interest. On the other hand, you'd be thrilled to be admitted to PSU or Clemson.

This obsession with elite schools is out of hand. If companies only target these “top” schools then something is wrong with this country. There are smart hardworking students all over this country going to all kinds of schools. The Ivys are not really any better than state schools.
