Elite colleges: T10? T20? Or T25?

Can we return the discussion to the proven fact that Public Ivies such as UVA, Penn, CalTech and UNC are the only meaningful “elite” in 2022?

Harvard and Yale are dinosaurs. Rich kids with no ambition. If you’re looking for the current elite look no further than the rolling hills of Charlottesville.

There are other courses of study than CS.

Agree and and UVA isn’t among the top 25 in most of them.

Yep. UVA #41. Right where I expected it to be. Nowhere near top 25. Actually 25 publics rated ahead of it.

So is Penn. Then again, many consider Penn and PSU to be the same school.

I have never thought they are the same. So are the people in the elite circle.

You don’t, but others do. See previous postings.

Agree. Everything else is the next tier down.

This is missing Columbia, but otherwise totally agree!

It’s missing Columbia and UPenn, but snuck Brown and Berkeley in. Hmmm.

Penn is a satellite campus for Penn State. Most people don’t realize this. It’s like how Berkeley attempts to brand itself as distinct from the rest of the UC system. But admitted Penn students can take classes at any campus.

Part of the 2+2 program.

Kind of surprised that Northeastern isn't listed in the T20 or even in the T10. Especially since the other less-popular directional school (Northwestern) that is often confused with the more popular NEU is listed. With 90,000 applicants (nearly twice the Ivies), co-ops galore, and half-a-dozen campus branches (one opening near you for sure) NEU is the future of higher education and IMHO merits inclusion the top-20 or top-10. Sorry don't mean to ruffle any feathers in this ivy-focused group, But I hope I can offer my honest opinion.
