St John's is on Military Road - PP was saying the top team in the nation has no business playing O'Connell who will not be at all competitive in this game. It's an ongoing debate about if the WCAC should have 2 divisions in lacrosse like they do in football. An upper tier and lower tier to ensure safe and more skill aligned play. In football they reevaluate it every other year and schools are still able to play each other if they want to but it isn't required for league standings. If they do should they use strength of team? size of school? Same division for all sports? PVI is in the lower football tier - guessing they wouldn't be happy about that for lacrosse

All you need to know about IL ranking is that it has Bishop Ireton with a higher ranking than PVI. |

hopefully, the WCAC league commissioner gets it right and splits the league into an upper and lower division for lacrosse.
It seems to be working well on the grid-iron since they adopted this format 4 years ago, I still can't figure out why it hasn't been done for lacrosse. It's simple": Upper Division: 1. SJC 2. GZ 3. DM 4. PVI 5. GC (GC has a much higher ceiling right now than anyone else in the lower division, and even now with the Saint Andrews coaching coming in) Lower Division: 1. BI 2. Bishop Mac 3. O'Connell 4. The Heights 5. Ryken (with the right coach, and really the only private school in town in Southern MD, these guys could get pretty competitive, very quickly) SJC or GZ getting nothing out of beating a team 20-0 and vice versa. it's not fun for the players on any side, the coaches or the parents for that matter. Every two seasons, re-assess if a team either wants to drop down to the lower division or if a team in the lower division, wants to bump up. Sadly, the ADs and Heads of these schools are too stupid on how to figure out a proper league format that fair and fun for all parties involved. |

Rock Creek Park is a dog field? Anyway, game will be 20-0 at half. They ran the clock last year. Not sure why we can’t stay in VA for this as SJC hosted last year. |

Well.....if you grew up around there....the open field directly across from SJC on the other side of Military Rd before the trees...was called "the dog field" Called this because there were always dog training classes going on there on the weekends. Anyway, if you are not from around there, you likely would not know it. I am guessing the person who posted that thought it was not a local term |

Been saying this for years but the WCAC is run by a bunch of morons.
SJC or Gonzaga or PVI get nothing out of playing Ireton or O’Connell and vice versa. Lopsided margins of victory might even deter some kids from wanting to continue to play a team sport with their team. WCAC commissioner, please create and upper and lower division starting next spring. It’s what is best for the players at all schools and what is best to continue to grow the game. |

According to inside lacrosse as of yesterday BI had a higher ranking than Prep, Bullis, and Landon. So there is that. |

IL rankings or Max Prep rankings or FanLax ranking (formerly Laxpower) don't make much sense until all teams across the country have played 10+ games under their belt.
From what I recall, the computer rankings start to make some sense of reality towards the end of April. |
