Where is your 3.7ish weighted full-pay accepted?

Bumping this. The other thread got derailed by the 4.0+ crowd. Very interested in results for this group as my DC will be applying with 3.7 weighted ish next year. 1250 SAT.

My 3.6/4 uw gpa with only a few advanced classes and a 31 ACT has been accepted at a number of schools so far, including Clark, Denver, UVM, Chapman and ASU Barrett. Still waiting on a few reach schools. Private school (not big 3 or considered competitive), no hooks.

If this were my child, I would get them in a test prep class and raise that score Stat, or, only apply to TO schools.

It really matters where the 3.7 weighted is coming from. A kid coming from a private school known for rigor and not a lot of weighting will have different options than a kid from a public school where over half the class is 4.0+.

Weighted 3.7 at Tufts would be under their 50% mark. Would be interested to know what hooks your kid had!

full pay!

My kid got into Amherst with a 3.7 no sports hooks, full pay. Other sorta hook was that she was able to join the orchestra with a somewhat rarer instrument. Private school that definitely doesn’t inflate given she was in the top 10% of her class (school didn’t disclose actual rank).

May I ask which instruments are considered rarer ?

Yeah, can’t compare private school GPA with public school GPA. My daughter had a 4.4 from a MCPS public and might have been in the top 30%.

Schools might not officially disclose class rank, but they give enough information so that colleges have a very good idea where your kid ranks.
