Basis McLean new HOS

One can only represent herself. I trust Niche and US News more than this forum.
I have kids in Basis. No one asks me to write good review. I never write any reviews on any websites. If not irritated by some hatred words here in this forum, I would never write a post. We are happy and we are busy. Not worth to persuade some strangers here.

BIM 7th graders learn in logic class that when you call negative evidence "hate words" you have launched an ad hominem attack, attacking the motives of the other person rather than addressing the information they have presented. It indicates someone with a closed mind and a fixed agenda no matter what evidence comes to light. At best, they are dodging the substantive issues and substituting personal confrontation as a distraction.

Such a person's opinions get judged accordingly. Many people on this thread have had direct experience with BIM and add to the pool of information, good and bad.

Some posts here exactly reflected those closed-minds and prejudice from those likes to play politics and games both at school and in the life. Basis definitely not for them.
Basis is relatively new. It's normal people have bias. For those who shared their real experiences here, I respect them. But for those who just wanted to trash the school not based on facts, yes, I called them hatred words. They are disgusting.

Basis is welcome, friendly and simple. Teachers there for teaching. Students there for learning. School treats students equally because there no upper class big donators exists. Basis don't ask for donations. Super rich parents won's affect any policies here. School follows its own curriculum and its own policy. Parents don't play politics and no need to. Students focus on learning, don't do drugs and don't play small circles bully or politics.

Started right off with another ad hominem attack on anyone who doesn't agree with you. Thanks for illustrating that mindset from a BASIS parent. It's useful for everyone to see.

Keep bullying.
First generation immigrant parents cannot write perfect English. But have wisdom to point out who are the bully victims here. I just cannot tolerate someone keep trashing the school we like not based facts. I am glad those won't be in our school. Basis admission rate is high. Looks like not very selective. But this is how natural selection process take place. If you don't like it, just don't apply or leave. Spend so many time here to trash the school won't do any good to your children.

What you call bullying is exactly what your students will be doing and facing in 7th grade there. Logical analysis of arguments. Those are simple facts.

Former APS parent. Basis is awesome. My 7th grader is thriving. Please don’t listen to the losers on this site whose children can’t hack it or parents who can’t afford it

+1
If you are interested, please contact the school, tour the school, attend the open house by yourself. Talk to Basis parents in person. Don't just listen to the strangers who you don't know if they really have the first hand experiences.

Anyone not on the bandwagon is personally attacked. Speaks volumes about the parent culture at the school.

FYI, making up stuff to attack total strangers tells us about you, not them.

Can any parents share your opinion for the new HOS?
Also what's the position Trixxx for?

The communications director announced on LinkedIn that she is leaving. Anybody else? I talked to one teacher who is very open to moving next year but won't desert the kids right now.

Given this head is new (again), but at least been with Basis a long time - why are the admin and teachers leaving under him?

The Hos is not the reason why people re leaving. Specially the admin staff since the Hos doesn't manage them. I personally think the new hos is promising . Our DC is happy at Basis so we are hoping he stays and makes some changes.

What changes has he made?

Will the new HOS be pushed out again if he cannot reach the goal - increase the enrollment?

Much more us at stake than the HoS job if enrollment targets are not reached.

What are their goals near term, intermediate term and long term>
What's the enrollment number set for this fall? 700? 800? Now it's 640.
