I just finished a random book I grabbed at the library - The Pessimists by Bethany Ball. I give it 3.5/5, it had some decent satire and some interesting characters so I found it to be an enjoyable read. There were a few flaws though, but overall I think I'd recommend it. Now I'm re-reading High Fidelity by Nick Hornby. I really like this book (I wanted to check out About a Boy but they didn't have it at the library).

What are you reading and would you recommend it? I kind of wish we had a monthly book club post here on DCUM, I always like seeing threads about books but they can be kind of sporadic.

I liked High Fidelity, too.
I’m listening to Turtles All The Way Down but just started so am not sure yet if I would recommend. I like it so far.

The Aeneid by Virgil.

Well this isn't going to win me any "great reader" awards - but I just started reading Crave (that vampire YA book set at an Alaskan boarding school) by Tracy Wolff. I have legitimate professional reasons for reading it - seriously!

Before that I finally read Euphoria by Lily King. I kind of loved it. She really is masterful at drawing you into a world.

Loved High Fidelity when I read it - when, in the 90s?

I didn't love Turtles. I should probably try a different John Green. Do you read a lot of YA - or how did you pick this one?

I just finished The Storyteller, Dave Grohl’s memoir. It’s really great!

Looking for something else.

Nothing. Sleep deprived and not reading right now. I was on a Terry Pratchett bender last month. His later books are miles better than his earlier attempts, so start with those.

I paused the Pessimists - couldn't get into it - but maybe I'll give it another try.

I just started The Golden Couple by the same authors who wrote The Wife Between Us and it's pretty good so far.

I long for a monthly online book 📖 club on here as well.

Patsy (Nicole Dennis-Benn) which has been in my TBR pile for so long it's a hardcover.

I like it enough that I read it until I'm 3/4ths asleep -- I know it's time to stop for the night because I've had to read the same paragraph three times.
