Nanny "special privileges"?

Anonymous
We're about to start a nanny search with Coast to Coast Nannies, and one of the questions on their form is "Please explain any special privileges given to the nanny."

Curious how others would answer this question or how you'd interpret it? I've also reached out to the agency for their guidance, but wanted to hear from others who have hired nannies.

We're obviously new to this. Thanks in advance.

Pool membership they can use with your kids but also on their own time.

Car for them to use all the time.

Ability to work out in your home gym after work hours.

Just guessing, but that’s what comes to mind.

Is allowing the nanny to work out in the home gym a regular thing? We have a nanny and a home gym and I'd happily let her use it, if that is considered a perk (no idea if she'd be interested, but also wouldn't want to offer this unless it is a semi-common thing).

Yes, absolutely. Especially if enables her to drop the expense of a gym membership outside of your home.

Use of the pool when the baby was asleep and lunches prepared by the family chef (I worked for a very wealthy family). They also routinely gave me concert tickets (dad was in the music business).

We leased a car for our nanny to use personally and with our child. And full healthcare coverage. We also have one of those meal delivery services where nanny orders her lunches for the week that she can just pop into the microwave.

I'm not rich enough to give these, but here are some examples.

Car service account that she can take to and from work, she also takes it as part of getting the kids around so does not have to think about driving and parking.

Membership in the health club so that she can work out anytime she is not working for the family, and can use the facilities while DD is in swim class or gymnastics.

Wow. So much wealth around here.

If you live in a building with amenities (gym, pool, etc) allowing the nanny to use the amenities before or after work.

I worked for a family whose building had a bowling alley in the basement which was fun

Pretty sure car service account qualifies you as rich

A former employer in the airline industry gave me two first class flights twice a year, one international and one domestic. Everyone can do a little something extra.
