Are homosexual natures created by nurture, nature, or God?
I think the answer is is quite important as it would show us the cause/source of homosexuality. If God, as believers think, then why is God creating gays? Regards DL |

I'll bite.
Born that way. Don't know about God. I can see where if you believe in God as the master planner and creator but have issues with gays this might cause you a lot of consternation. I also believe some people, especially now, like to experiment sexually and that might include curiosity about sex with the same gender. |
| I have two gay children. DH thinks they learned it from social media/school/liberals. Yet, my 56yr old cousin and 85 year old great uncle are also gay and grew up in a conservative Catholic country long before the internet, so I say genetic. |
| God. Because God creates all things including gay humans (and penguins). But I’m Episcopalian so I also don’t think homosexuality is a sin. |
| I think male sexuality is more fixed, and less subject to environment. Women are more flexible. There are certainly some women who end up dating women who, in a world where that wasn't socially acceptable, would have happily ended up with a man. But I'm glad that we don't live in that world anymore. |
Same. - another Episcopalian |

Since homosexuality is evident in many animal species including many "lower" life forms that have a lot less cognizance, it definitely suggest that it is more nature than nurture. \\
You can find a partial list of animal species that display homosexual behavior here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_animals_displaying_homosexual_behavior |

God/nature created heterosexuals, homosexuals, dyslexic people, left handed, right handed, great singers, terrible singers, those good at math, those great at writing, artists, scientists, those good at public speaking, asexuals, etc.
It’s all part of the plan. |

Yep. Genetics and God. And the more children you have, the more likely at least one will be gay or asexual, at least in my observations.of large conservative families. |
Don't forget those who naturally believe in god and those who don't, and those who are suggestible. This is assuming that "God" didn't create all these different types of people, but that it's true they do exist. |
+1 And God doesn’t make mistakes. |
This. Didn't have to happen in so many of these cases. |

God created man and woman; God created sex.
Only a man and a woman can use their generative organs for sex. What two men and two women do together is not sex. It is an act where the organs of generation/excretion are misused. Also, environmental factors combined with certain qualities of personality lead an individual to inappropriately “sexualize” the healthy and normal affection between persons of the same sex. The gay “identity” is a modern (post 1700s) cultural creation centered around the imperfection. God created everything, but the fall of man gave us our tendency towards imperfection and misuse of our nature. We’re all sinners in some way, this is just another way. Straight people sin all the time too. |
| I think gay/straight/bi people are born that way. I think nurture is a factor with bi people. Factors growing up if you are truly bi can lead you to lean more one way than the other im life as far as who you choose as a life partner. ( bi person who identifies as gay/married) |
