Do adult women share rooms vs men on adult trips?

Anonymous
Dh and I are in our 40s. I have done girlfriend trips since I was in college and we always share a room or suite. Sometimes we can’t all fit in one room so we few a few rooms but multiple women are in the same room. On a few occasions when I was sleep deprived with young children, I really wanted to just get my own room but decided to just stay with the friends because much of the trips is hanging out with friends getting ready and hanging out in the room.

When Dh travels, he always gets his own room. Sometimes other guys may crash in a friend’s room so 2 men in a 2 queen room but for the most part, everyone gets their own room.

Is this a female/male dynamic?

I wonder if it is financial. My husband makes a very high income as do most of his friends. My friends are a mix of working women and stay at home moms. HHI varies from friend to friend.

You do you but IMO sharing a room is a dealbreaker after college age or shortly thereafter.

I'd rather get a crappy hotel room for half the price than share a nice one. The thought of waiting for a shower, sitting on a warm toilet seat in a stunk up bathroom in my own hotel room, or not having somewhere to retreat to if I'm done with socializing for the day is making me angry just typing it.

why have there been like three threads about women and men sharing beds and rooms in the past few days. Someone is a weirdo

Once we have kids, time away from the family is rare and precious. I value my space and my sleep. So no way I would share a bed. I could share a room if I really have to, but would rather have my own space to sleep and not be disturbed. I'm in my 40s too and I am way past getting ready together.

I am a woman and would have no issue sharing a hotel room that has 2 beds in it (queens or fulls) with another adult woman. I would only do this if I were close to the woman, but if I'm on vacation with her that's a safe bet. We've even done 3 to a room and it was fine but 2 would be better.

The women on this site are just too precious.

Op here. I am wondering if it is just my circle of friends who want or expect to share a room/beds or generally the norm. I have 2 friends with milestone birthdays and planning weekend trips. Both seem to assume room sharing.

Me too. Just my luck I'd get stuck with a snorer. I cannot sleep then. I would rather get my own room.

I have not shared a hotel room with an unrelated female since I was in my 20s. We have money now, can afford our own rooms.

I don’t share rooms. Time alone in my own hotel room is precious!

Op here. This must be a friend group and budget related.

On my last few girl trips, I was the only one who had my own bed. Everyone else shared.

How does this have anything at all to do with homophobia? You aren’t making any sense.

I am a working 41 year old mom who has taken many trips with girlfriends since college. The HHI probably varies from $250K-1M. We always share rooms, but never share beds.
