| What is with this new cultural trend where women who knowingly have affairs with married men are absolved? "Well, she's not the one who's married, she didn't do anything wrong" Seriously? She knowingly had an affair with someone who was married - she did a horrible thing to the wife and any children involved. (Yes, this was inspired by the thread about the congressman who cheated on his wife with an ISIS widow lol) |

| I wouldn't say they're absolved. I think people are just moving away from the traditional thinking that cheating men are upright family men led astray by jezebels. |

They’re probably the same women who went after other women’s boyfriends when they were in college. They like the challenge of seeing if they can get the guy away from another woman. Not particularly high morals involved usually.

They date married men because they’re are a limited amount of high-earning, powerful men available. Focusing on their future, it’s every woman for herself and they aren’t thinking about his wife and children except in the abstract- as an obstacle. |

I don’t think they’re absolved, they’re just the less guilty of the two parties and it’s very outdated to vilify the woman while the man proceeds as usual— ask Monica Lewinsky how that felt. |

I don’t really understand the obsession on this site with placing people in boxes. Not all women who have relations with married men are the same or have the reasons.
Some women like the conquest. Some think this is all they deserve or can get. For some it’s happenstance- banging in a hotel room at a conference. Some are sex starved at home and want a low threat means for sex. Some are sex Addicts or mentally ill. Some are glorified hookers and look for married men that will pamper them - like the men who buy their APs condos. And some women just meet and fall with some who happens to be married. For some women, a man being married is off limits. From the amount of affairs that occur, a sizable group of women will look past the ring. |
