Why is Daniele Pletka invited on this show? Someone explain this. And ...what do you think of her responses to Andrea Mitchell after explaining that Pompeo "misspoke."

I don't usually watch, but I think I will now.

Pompeo's "career" was not in great shape to begin with. I think his comments on Putin have tanked any further hopes for him. I have come to call this mediocre white guy syndrome and there is a lot of it out there.

Nooo, not those comments. That's the walkback. Here is the tape of the comments Pompeo made earlier in the week. Maybe you get away with this if you are some talking head in a think tank, but this is the GD former CIA director and Secretary of State. This is massively problematic.

I am the PP that linked Pompeo's comments, Politico article. I straight out admit that I don't like Mike Pompeo - at all.

Pletka is a Republican that believes that she can exist in the party as it is instead of what she wants it to be. If you are commenting on this thread then go watch the roundtable. She's doing the same thing with Pompeo that so many Republicans did with Trump - minimizing his statements and behavior, convincing people that mocking a disabled reporter isn't what happened, etc. My absolute favorite of this genre is this essay:

Oh yeah, I get that. But, on the show today, she came off really inappropriately. The roundtable, with Andrea Mitchell as the first to challenge her, Pletka's behavior was quite alarming- especially toward Mitchell. Todd should not have let that go by.
