A prominent female in the world of gaming is under fire for saying that any man under 5'7" shouldn't have human rights and thst they should undergo bone lengthing procedures:
https://news.yahoo.com/japanese-female-pro-gamer-fired-014754590.html She is from Japan where the average height for a man is 5'7", meaning a huge portion of Japanese men, according to her, do not deserve human rights simply because of their height. The hypocrisy here is truly astounding. We have so many efforts for body positivity for women where being overweight is celebrated. Yet where is the same kind of thing for men? You have nasty toxic women out there saying men under some certain level of height don't even deserve to live or deserve human rights. You can at least control your weight by not stuffing your face. How exactly can you change your DNA to make yourself taller? If we are going to push body positive culture, then it should go for everyone. |
| Hypocrisy? I’m curious why you’d generalize her violent and slightly unhinged opinion to those who just want all bodies to be given respect. |

Breaking news: a gamer said something toxic.
So OP, do you start threads every time a male gamer issues rape threats to a women player? You do, right? |
What do whataboutisms have anything to do with the topic at hand? You're free to start a thread whenever other gamers say such things. You just don't want to admit you support this nasty female's opinion. |
| Oh no! She’ll never get attention doing something like this! |
If the OP isn’t one giant whataboutism, I don’t know what is. |
| She said something really stupid to get attention. Don't give her attention! |

There's a lot in the body positivity movement about men, not sure why you think men aren't included. Do a google search.
The only difference I've seen is women embrace it and promote it more, I don't know very many men in real life who choose to promote it or talk about it. But it's certainly not because they're being excluded, the every day guy just seems to not really care. If you want more male body positivity, you need to start those discussions like women have, not just sit around complaining someone else should. The woman from the article is extreme. I don't know any women with opinions like hers. She was fired for her comments. What more do you want? |
| We are all short in our family, but I think what she said is what many men who are tall privately feel. Not human rights necessarily, but that short men are lesser. |
This is exactly it. The favoritism society gives toward men comes from patriarchy. Society things men should be big and strong and women small and weak, so we punish short men and big women. Two sides of the same coin. |

Not gonna read that but will say that as petite woman just about 5’3” I used to only date shorter men. I know all about the Napoleon Complex and the associated outsize ego that shorter men seem to have, most especially if they are handsome-to-hot and intelligent.
There is certainly a subgroup of shorter men who attempt to compensate by powerlifting and/or excessive tattoo plus one extreme vanity “exercise” (like interest in their hair, or clothes or tanning) and/or excessive display of wealth like car collecting or being in a showy field. I’m describing Dan Snyder- and two ex-BFs. |
| What is the recommended cut off height for women to lose their human designation? |
Under 5’ and over 5’4”. It’s just science. |
For what it’s worth, DH is 5’7 and is pretty attractive and very intelligent. He is also very secure in who he is so doesn’t have a complex about it. I think short men go about dealing with their height in two ways: either they accept it and develop their sense of self in healthy ways, or they act the way you’ve described here. My brother is actually the same as my husband. He’s 5’6 and I’m sure he sometimes gets bummed about how he is treated for his height, but he also owns who he is and is basically one of the most genuine and charismatic people you’ll ever meet. He’d never say something like “fat people shouldn’t be okay with their bodies because that encourages obesity.” He just treats people kindly and minds his own business. |
And what age do they need to reach these heights by? Should we start a new national zoo for all the new non humans ? |
