| Other than jerky (blech), anyone have any suggestions? It's for a week of travel where I will not have acess to a refrigerator or even a grocery store. If I weren't trying to lose a few pounds I'd be packing granola bars and other kid lunch pouches of food. |

Do you just need something to snack on or are worried that you will miss meals and need food for that (like the hotel does not serve breakfast). If you are trying to lose weight, if you take nuts, I suggest individual portions. Maybe taste test a few protein bars before you go. Or some high protein cereal.
Individual portions of peanut butter (take a spoon). |
| To be honest, I still like the good old Atkins shakes. They now come in different coffee flavors which are pretty good. |
| Quest bars are not very tasty, but they do the trick! Just drink plenty of water after. |

Just thinking about Quest bars gives me gas. |
| Laughing Cow types of cheese wedges, usually come in a round cardboard container. They don't need to be refrigerated. Single serve protein powder packs you can mix with water. Squeezable packs of apple sauce. |
| Peanut butter |
| canned chick peas in zip lock baggies |
| How about just not snacking. |
| Coffee or decaf coffee with heavy cream always works too as an appetite suppressant. |

I've frozen edamame to take on long hikes. Takes awhile to defrost.
Crunchy roasted chickpeas Dried tofu (like a jerky) Homemade bars/cookies. I know this sounds weird, but it's an anonymous board -- I used to make dog snacks as a sort of unsweetened peanut butter cookie? They became my base for making my own bars. |
| Chick peas aren’t low carb and high protein. |
