Charlie Kirk shot at Utah Valley University

You also have an incompetent FBI. Merit.

Statement from MSNBC president Rebecca Kutler:

“During our breaking news coverage of the shooting of Charlie Kirk, Matthew Dowd made comments that were inappropriate, insensitive and unacceptable. We apologize for his statements, as has he. There is no place for violence in America, political or otherwise.”

Good. You’d never hear this from Fox.

Fox didn’t disparage him. MSNBC did.

New poster here. Knock off the fake outrage. Matthew Dowd is a political analyst. He's not a reporter. He messed up. The network apologized. He apologized. I guess you've never expressed any strong opinions yourself, eh?

Meanwhile FOX News, OAN, Newsmax lie and say horrible things all the time, but never apologize or retract (until they get sued)

Their failure to pin this on a liberal - even tenuously - this long into the investigation is weird. Kash “QuickDraw” Patel would be crowing about it already if they had an ounce of evidence of anything.

But they don't even have the shooter. How is he able to be 'very clear" so prematurely? In the same press conference, the FBI refused to comment on whether or not there is international involvement.

Something is up.

WTF

Patel never ever says anything truthful.

He was in court today becasue he is being sued by FBI employees that were let go. everyone should read what he said. He's insane. When you are the FBI director and you lie under oath and sound insane might not be a good day for you.

Again, can anyone please provide any evidence that Kirk was considered a potential presidential candidate before these tragic events? Because I am both very online and extremely politically aware and I never saw this.

Nothing about him running. This is something they’re saying now to stir stuff up more. He wasn’t running for anything.

Agree. I am conservative but listen to anti-Trump voices. He comes across my feed, people who like him and refer to him. No one was saying he was politician material. He’s like Prager. Media, college activism, talking head.

Rip. Though I don’t agree with his opinions, this is a sad day that someone who does political speech has to be afraid to go around in public.

I am from Africa and in my country we have had a lot of military coup. It's always soldiers killing each other they don't go after the civilians.we have never had a politician assassinated by a civilian..we have never had a kid walk into a school and kill other kids. We have never had someone walks into his former job and kill his coworkers because he was fired. Yet some of you see us as barbarians savages etc.

Some of the comments on this thread are just scary. I don't know who this guy is never heard of him.

Regardless of his ideology this guy is really young, married and has kids. You have freedom of speech in America. Some may not like his views, but your constitution protects his speech.

...and how often does Fox issue public apologies when someone appearing on their network says something offensive?

That’s right the constitution protected his speech. There was no government interference.

He is very popular with teenage boys, I would go as far to say that is his main demographic.

My younger teen (14) son hadn't heard of Kirk before today. I'm curious if you ask a teen boy, what about Kirk appealed to them. I'm asking genuinely, I would really like to understand.

He didn’t hate teen boys for their identities. That’s it. I don’t even think a lot of his fans necessarily agreed with his politics. They were just so desperate for some political/media figure that didn’t hate them for who they are.

Oh no. Teen boys absolutely agree with his politics. Mine and their friends are prime examples

Some, yes. But he had a lot of teen boy fans that didn’t agree with his politics but just liked him, because he was civil and also didn’t hate teen boys for being teen boys.

He was a lot of things but that’s not how most people would describe him. Gleefully provocative - a kind of happy warrior… that’s what teen boys like - he looked like had so much fun trolling and teasing his opponents…

This narrative is so odd. He looked so tense all the time. Even when he spoke to a conservative he’d grimace.

Oh the FBI will pin it on a “liberal”. There is no way you can trust the FBI to have a nonpartisan investigation.

I guarantee they trot out some hapless Latino “illegal” they rounded up for a show trial.

This was a professional hit directed by a nation state. Incredibly risky, took lots of planning, and somehow the shooter escaped without being noticed?

I don’t buy it.

Same. I’ve never once heard his name floated. Also, LOL that the guy is mad at the organizers…that was Charlie. He organized it.

Patel is fueling the conspiracy theory that this was an inside job to distract from Epstein.
