As a Democrat, it all feels hopeless.

Why don’t you familiarise yourself with Project 2025 main goals

- the complete elimination of the Department of Education

- complete abortion ban

- the department of Health and Human Services should "maintain a biblically based, social science-reinforced definition of marriage and family".

- It proposes to eliminate a long list of terms from all laws and federal regulations, including "sexual orientation", "gender equality", "abortion" and "reproductive rights"

- aims to end diversity, equity and inclusion programs in schools and government departments

From your link, but of course you know this:

Trump has disavowed the document.
"I know nothing about Project 2025," Trump posted on his social media website, Truth Social. "I have no idea who is behind it. I disagree with some of the things they're saying and some of the things they’re saying are absolutely ridiculous and abysmal."

Because we know Trump always tells the truth.

Trump isn’t a reader. He probably hasn’t read through Project 2025 and isn’t familiar with what’s in it . He shares that with most Americans.

That’s what makes me cringe when I hear out of touch liberals keep saying Project 2025 like it’s an epithet toward Trump. Their elitist tunnel vision shows . The majority of the country is not actually going to sit down and read a Republican 500 page pamphlet . Negativity also never sells an election/a candidate . Hope does. You have to provide something . Get real and make an abridged version of a DNC platform with actual economic remedies for the inflation of today instead of denying that inflation is happening because that’s what the President and DNC is doing. They’re denying that grocery store/food prices went up and COLA in general went up while wages and jobs have not. The bull market economy is only benefiting the 1% and investors . At this point, Biden’s admin. may as well be a Republican administration. Wars, no Roe v Wade, cutting Medicare, denying economic hardship for the poor and working class

And grocery costs and high interest rates along with credit card debt. You are right. Biden also cut Medicare Advantage a few months ago right before an election and blocked military raises . Optics wise it’s as if he wants to lose . He’s out of here . The map will be worse this time than 2016 and we all have Biden to blame for it not Trump. He refused to step down and let a younger fresher more electable Democrat take the reins . A man with dementia or Parkinson’s should not even be going through the rigor of a campaign let alone presiding over the US and speaking to foreign dignitaries embarassing the country with foolish gaffes

We were watching debate clips of previous presidential debates and struck by the comparison of every former candidate vs Biden. It’s embarrassing and dangerous to pretend Biden is able to lead America.

Democrats are seriously delusional.

That being said...as to the title of this post...you reap what you sow. You went too far to the left extremist, which caused a backlash from even the moderates, and in response the far-right extremists are now taking advantage...and flourishing so yes, I can see how you'd feel hopeless.

Now, I'm not one to vote for Trump...but the pendulum must be balanced between conservative and liberal values. Neither is better than the other and both should be equally respected.

The democrats have made many mistakes, including catering solely to far left extremists while discarding everyone else.

So tell me...what is a "moderate" to do? I feel hopeless for our entire nation...we are doomed either way.

Nothing about Trump/Vance is moderate.

What has Biden done that is so "extreme"? It seems to me, a fellow moderate, things are pretty good.

If you want to continue to have a country where your vote is actually counted, then vote Democratic. I feel like I owe it to all the people who've died for that cause over the last almost 250 years.

Nothing about Biden/Harris is moderate either. That's the problem. We'll just have to agree to disagree.

They aren’t. Biden isn’t in charge. People see that. I’m a construction worker with a degree at least but I see it. That begs the question of who is in charge?

Biden is senile, Harris is far from competent. Neither can string a sentence together and both are blind to their ultra radical leftist masters.

Trump is a bull in a china shop but you know what you’re getting. He’s a moderate in terms of politics, he’s a populist which a lot of Americans agree with, he’s been the victim of a witch hunt by elites for eight years and people see it and now he’s been shot by a lunatic who was inspired by the hatred and awful rhetoric from the democrat praetorian guard.

They’ve tried to lock him up, tie him to Russia, say he’s a fascist, take him off ballots, relentlessly attack him in the media who lies, spied on his campaign, used fake dossiers, say he’s going to lock gays in camps, lewd us into WW3 (no new wars when he was in charge BTW) and now he’s been shot and gets up, tells people to fight for what’s right and gets his shoes and walks away . Biden can’t walk down stairs - or up them - without falling.

So, to sum up your voting strategy: Might makes right.

Read Project 2025 and tell me why you want that as a governing policy? I cannot fathom, even with a might makes right attitude toward life, why you want to actively harm your self and others.

Trump doesn’t endorse project 2025 so that’s a moot point.

The fact you keep peddling this shows you’re an NPC parrot and not capable of thinking on your own . The DNC relies on people like you to keep the narrative going because it’s the only thing they have.

Congrats on being a useful idiot

I can’t imagine how Biden’s debate performance will be viewed in the future.

Whether people agree with their politics or opinions, at least previous candidates were in control of their ability to speak and could think and communicate clearly. They were being watched by an audience and by the press as they debated. The moderators did ask follow up questions, but the candidates themselves were not fact checked by the moderators, something people today seem to expect. It’s truly shocking to compare the 2024 debate between Biden and Trump to the previous debates throughout American political history. Those debates were actual debates. The Biden Trump debate looks like a highly controlled, produced discussion. No presidential candidate in history remotely resembles Biden in word, thought, or function. I can’t guess why democrats are supporting a candidate who presents and performs so unusually. Nothing about Biden’s candidacy or his overwhelming support makes sense.

Trump is too lazy and self-absorbed to have his own platform. Project 2025 is his platform and these pathetic attempts to deflect just show how stupid republicans are.

I would like Democrats to focus more on a platform that is beneficial to all. So many little fixes do not address issues for all Americans. For instance the ACA: expanding subsidies is wonderful, but people who do not qualify face exorbitant costs. Insurance companies have zero incentive to ever lower the cost since the Government picks up the bill for so many. In fact, they have every incentive to increase costs. And then the non-subsidized folks are forced to pay more and more. Not to even mention the out of pocket max for all plans, rising and rising since inception.

He almost died. Criticize him all you want for valid reasons, but the violent rhetoric that caused us to be an inch away from a civil war by fear-mongering about how our country will die if he gets elected—needs to stop.

This was the first time ever, since the SS created their counter sniper team—that any SS sniper needed to fire their rifle to neutralize a threat.

And it was to protect Trump, and yall just can’t stand that given the moral high ground narrative you’ve created around Democrats.

It’s really, incredibly sad.

Plenty of violent rhetoric on the other side, too...for years now. Or have you not paid attention to the words coming out of the mouths of MTG, Steve Bannon, Mark Robinson, etc.? I see lots of language there that seems to incite violence.

To the original query about feeling hopeless.

The last 3 months has seen the absolute collapse of the Democrat party, exposed for being violent, out of touch, liars , liars and more liars.

It’s over , Trump will finish you off

So how will Trump address that? How will he make life better for working Americans vs corporations?
