UMC suburban college student lied about background to become prestigious Rhodes Scholar

I’m so entertained by how narked these posters are about this girl wagging the dog.

A topic that never dies.. Jeez. Leave the girl alone.

Why do you have sympathy for her, because she's a cute rich white girl? She stole a seat and full college scholarship from someone actually poor, deserving and first generation. It's gross.

If she was any other demo, including some white boy, there'd be zero sympathy. Imagine if it was a white boy wearing a MAGA hat on his instagram, everyone would want to see him sent to prison for fraud. Nobody would be posting about "well, technically he did nothing wrong..." or "well, it's just creative license to write that..." or "actually, in this obscure club it sort of says a rich medical doctor's kid can be first generation..."

I think it's really just her and her friends posting that. Everyone else can see the mental illness for what it is. I hope she repents soon

This has all the elements of a Hollywood movie. Who knows what would have happened had she not been stopped? And if she is to have any future at all she'll have to change her name again.

i.) No way QuestBridge has that same broad definition and I'm safety assuming she said she was first-generation on all of their app materials. ii.) No chance she found that one obscure Penn club's first-gen definition when she first applied four or five years ago. iii.) That broad Penn definition has nothing to do with Oxford and Rhodes.

All false today. She tried to milk the system and got caught. And, yes, PPs are correct. If this were a white male, you would all be screaming "unfair". What she did was WRONG. It's fraud and she should be prosecuted for it. period. Enough with trying to find victimhood everywhere.

Story reminds me Kubrick's Barry Lyndon, especially when the little boy, Lord Bullingdon, says, "He seems to me little more than a common opportunist." She's nothing special, just a shameless liar feasting on high-trust society.

She took a spot that should've gone to a poor teen that truly did grow up in the system and needed to escape. That's the truly heartbreaking part of this.

These gen Z women and girls, the tumblr generation, they are addicted to narratives of themselves as super oppressed abused outcasts. They make up stories constantly, attack people in mobs, and are completely demented and abusive. The Crucible in action. Glad this one didn't get away with it for a change.

Ironic that she's pictured with and idolized Sandy Cortez, who also lied about growing up in an upper middle class family; architect father, Westchester County, and then private $75K per year Boston University.

Sounds a lot like Hillary ("Eee-lar-ee-aa") Baldin, another rich congenital liar with doctor parents, elite private school lifer, who made up a bio from thin air to get what she wanted. In Hillary's case, a rich and famous husband; in this case, free Ivy and Oxford degrees.

Liz Holmes or hell Liz Warren with the Indian scam

Maybe I’m the only one that feels sorry for her. I hope she gets help and tries to reconcile with her mother. Especially sad it’s her mother’s only child.
