I'm starting a new thread about positive stories about pit bulls. Here is an article describing a few. If you have a pit come on it and share your story!

| Not mine, but my daughter has a pit. She got him way too young (5 weeks) but he has actually grown up to be a good dog. They look much nicer with natural ears, there seem to be a lot of bad home ear crops done to pits. He stayed with us for 6 months while she was out of the country and got along great with everyone. He's so funny when the cat steals his food, he doesn't know what to do, so he just looks pitiful and whines until someone comes to get the cat. She has spent a lot of time training and socializing him and it shows. |

OP, my relatives have a pit who is a lovely dog. But for every positive story, there are a dozen negative ones.
The stereotype exists for a reason. It's not a media invention. |
| Our rescue is only 20% Pit but you can definitely see it in him. He is the sweetest, goofiest, happiest dog I've ever owned. He is also really calm and chill, well except for when he sees the mailman, then he just starts wiggling and wagging with excitement because he know he gets to say hi and get his daily milkbone. He also really doesn't bark much at all. |
op You are welcome to your opinion but, may I ask you to avoid this one thread? I am looking to hear positive stories only. Thank you! |
| My neighbor has a pit mix, who has been no trouble whatsoever. In comparison, my dog is reactive to larger dogs, and the three other dogs on the street sometimes get into scuffles. The pit mix? Not one incident. |

| My neighbor’s sweet Pit attacked and killed him one day. It’s a positive story because I didn’t like the neighbor. New neighbor gets 2 thumbs up. |

Time bombs.
Like asking to post positive attributes about psycho killers. Heard Ted Bundy was a charmer until he snapped. |
| The issue isn't that there are no positive stories. Of course there are tons. The issue is the high rate of violence, including from pits with no negative history. All the positive stories in the world won't negate that. |
| I've got two. I adore them. They are gentle and sweet with my kids, snuggly and goofy about 99% of the time, and spend the other 1% of their time barking at delivery trucks and squirrels. I've had dogs my whole life (my family bred golden retrievers growing up), but these are my first pits and they are magnificent. |
| You can only really post these stories honestly if the pit is now dead and went its whole life without attacking anyone. |
op: Move along. Not every conversation is for everyone.\ I have a likely pit mix and he is very good dog. He gets along with my kids, my cats and my older dog. |
This thread is not about you. Move along, thank you! ( op) |
Do you really have that thin a grip on cost/benefit? Pit fanciers are dangerous idiots. |
