Jen Hatmaker

Sounds like something I would do over too much wine-- "OMG we are so funny! You should be on my podcast with me!"

I feel like that is exactly what happened. I also think Jen chose someone who makes HER feel funny rather than someone who is actually funny. Amy laughs at her jokes and lets her be the main character. But that doesn't make her a good cohost.

That’s because Jen only likes to be around people who think she’s awesome.

It blows my mind that someone (anyone!) heard Amy’s voice and thought, “She’d be perfect for a podcast!”. Why is she whispering? Why do I want to fall asleep? Does she say anything interesting? YIKES.

I wouldn’t even try hard to overhear their conversation if they were standing next to me in line at a Starbucks, let alone bother to listen to them on a poorly produced podcast.

Um, for the love, who's going to break it to Jen that trucker hats are out of fashion? Like, out of fashion in the same way that mullets were out of fashion in 1999? Or is she just going to COMMIT and hope that trucker hats once again become popular someday fifty years into the future?

I don’t think you can tell a train that it’s about to derail. I could find nothing of her podcast cohost online. Like nothing. She doesn’t have a voice for a podcast and has nothing to offer her cornholes. I’m disappointed that she has Sharon McMahon’s book for book club, as I actually like Sharon, but I feel like this was a publicist’s dream pair. The post only had three comments earlier so I’m not sure her fan base is all about the possibly political, maybe democratic view of things book isn’t their fancy.

I actually like Sharon McMahon but am now forced to rethink that. Once Jen puts her stink on something it’s over for me.

I don’t like Martina McBride now because she commented positively on one of Jen’s posts. Martina freaking McBride.

Yes, and I'm cautious now about Tricia Yearwood and Ree Drummond for the same reasons.

Agreed, but I also wonder if they just haven't spent enough time with her to see through the flattery, charm, and gifts that she's likely throwing at them to discover the instability, chaos, and crazy. Sociopaths/Narcissists will cozy up to a person on the front end to win them over and then they'll flip on a dime. Obviously, these women haven't seen the flip yet. But maybe Beth Moore has, because there seems to be some distance there now between her and Jen.

Oh my! I thought I was the only one. I gave up on Kimberly Williams Paisley years ago when Jen posted about their friendship! Now Sharon. I’m sad about this one though. I really trusted Sharon’s platform on issues.

For a 50-year-old woman? Oh wait, are you a try-hard soccer mom?

Yes, trucker hats are back in but I don’t see people my age wearing them. Just the 20-somethings.
