Picture of loose pet food in dining room bench?

Anonymous
I like this house and it looks beautifully remodeled for this style, but I am utterly confused by photo 13, which appears too show storage under the dining room seating bench containing... loose pet food?! It has a scoop, like they just scoop it right out to put in the dish, or maybe leave the bench open so the pet can eat directly out of it? Or is it something else altogether and I'm totally confused?

I just can't figure out what this is and why they would include this photo.

I don’t know why but that photo is making me laugh and laugh. WHY?! Why would they have loose pet food (or…legumes?) in that bench? It looks like it would get lost in the crannies and it’s just so strange.

I think it’s meant to show you can store things (pet food) in the bench. I think it’s kinda yuck in that it’s not a washable / sealed bin but maybe some folks don’t care. Would need to scrub the heck outta that at move in. The storage concept is nice tho.

Wow. I was expecting maybe an accidental sprinkling but this photo is...!!! An invitation to every mouse and rat around.

I think they wanted to show, “oh look, how cool, clever storage space.” I personally would not store loose dog food like that, but it’s nice to have a space like that for odds and ends. The rest of the house looks well kept and tasteful.

But it doesn't even show that it has more storage than that thin layer of pet food! It doesn't show how deep the storage bin is. Or maybe the pet food tray is removable and sitting on top of other stuff, like cushions... but in that case, why not remove the tray?

Just so strange for an otherwise really nicely put together house.

The built in looks lovely. With the sideways opening, shallow "storage" space and inexplicable storage of pet food in there, they probably should've excluded that picture. All I can think of is vermin and poor Fido, who eats stale food.

I love the paint color in the kitchen. Anyone know?

Omg I’m dying that’s disgusting. 🤣 and the dog food will get stale. Beyond weird.

I agree. Very weird. I looked at that house as were in the market for a 2BR in Arlington. Beautiful house but that’s just odd.

You guys, calm down. A bin is a bin. Maybe there’s a liner you can take out to clean.

It looks like wood, not a liner.

A liner doesn’t prevent the permeating dog food smell.

Strange. It’s just a weird and inconvenient way to store dog food. It’s too shallow and long to really function well and its not airtight to the smell would get out and air would make it stale.
Cute home but I would not be storing dog food in the bench.

It could be a good lego storage area. (Obviously after scrubbing and deep cleaning the dog food) Storing anything perishable in that bench is just gross.
