Northam’s last minute pardon of Joe Morrissey is disgusting

I am from Richmond and am have known about Joe
Morrissey and his shady antics for decades. He’s so slimy and so unethical and also a groomer/sexual predator.

In 2014 he had to please guilty to contributing to the delinquency of a minor after a teenager who worked for him in his law office gave birth to his baby. She was 17. Her family forced her to get married to Morrissey. They now have 4 children together. She’s around 25 years old today, with 4 kids with this old guy, no education, no job, no life.

My sibling knows her and one of her kids is good friends with one of my sibling’s kids because they’ve gone to school together for a few years (it’s a small school). According to my sibling, this woman is basically trapped, with no prospects of a future, completely overwhelmed, no chances of getting an education or any future, in a very unhappy marriage. This sounds like a parent’s worst nightmare of their child, being a child bride and child mother, forced to marry so she won’t have to testify against her abuser and then having all her future prospects taken away. My sibling says it’s incredibly obvious how unhappy she is.

So yesterday Northam gives Morrissey a “simple pardon”. WTAF?! Why? It does nothing to help the wife and if anything basically insults her. What happened to her didn’t matter. What is happening to her now also doesn’t matte. Because Morrissey is still married to this woman and went on to have more kids with her Duggar style back to back to back it’s all ok?!

This is the guy who released the photo of her with their kids in the old timey confederate garb outfits to show how happy they all are. His wife looked 12.

I’m done with the Virginia Democratic Party. And the RTD headline used to have “sexual indiscretion” and now says “interaction”. Unreal. He screwed his teenage receptionist, she worked for him, she was a minor.

Everyone in Richmond knows about this. And 99% feel very sorry for this poor woman and wish things had happened differently.

This isn’t run of the mill gossip. A sex crime and abuse was committed (more than once). It’s been all over the news here for years. You can’t spin this into anything other than what it is: sex abuse.

Yeah, those too don’t equate as it isn’t a citywide election and your statement shows your complete lack of knowledge on him.

What good comes out of this pardon? Is it a win for women? No big deal that a minor is sexually assaulted, gets pregnant and has to marry her abuser. Win for joe, win for all.
