Why are all the stores sold out of vegetables?

Is it from the recent snow storm or omicron?

Everyone got them already.

They’re not

The snow storms impacted deliveries. Sunday and Monday are never great days to shop.

Giant in Burtonsville was out of most produce for 2-3 days. I haven’t been over the weekend so don’t know if restocked yet. Trader Joe’s on 29 in Silver Slring was wiped out too today. Apparently it’s general supply issues compounded by the 2 snow storms and the issues on 95 earlier this week.

The Rockville TraderJoe’s was completely devoid of produce yesterday but Harris Teeter was better.

What's up with the banana shortage? Is it still because of the fungus that has been ripping through banana trees?

It's from everything. Chain reaction of low staffing - from ordering to picking to packing to loading to driving to unloading.

And the storm definitely impacted the trucks that had full deliveries.

People are calling out sick, and people are also quitting these strenuous, low paid jobs.

No immigration. It is at an all time low.

They're still stuck on 95.

Its not just immigration. FDNY does not hire non-Americans and a good portion of their force was out today. It led to 19 deaths, including 9 children, because the firetrucks sent out understaffed teams. And they admitted it was due to Covid shortages and illness.

Engine 48 was the first team to respond to the fire but apparently was short-staffed because of the coronavirus.

“They only had four firefighters instead of the five they are called for because of people out sick because of COVID,” said the FDNY Uniformed Firefighters Association president Andrew Ansbro, calling the blaze the worst the city has seen since 9/11.

“We feel this is an absolute case where staffing would have made a difference.

“Several of the first engines were in the same situation. If there was adequate staffing, the fire could have been put out faster, and people would have received medical aid sooner,” he said.

None at Columbia heights giant yesterday. Last night, no milk except a few organic chocolate chocolate at shaw giant. I got last frozen strawberry, last gallon water. These 3 items have sold out before though.

I think there was plenty of hummus which normally sells out because there was no vegtables.

It's low staffing plus the snowstorm plus the backup on 95. It's taken awhile for trucks to get through.
