Snow forecast

This isn’t a post about will schools close tomorrow but maybe this will be just what MCPS needed to close and not say it’s because of Covid cases. Regardless, I’m excited, hate this mild weather!

I’m surprised they’re forecasting 3 to 6 inches since the ground is so warm. But I’m looking forward to it if it materializes.

Only if 5% of unrelated sidewalks have snow. Then it will trigger a conversation in which each school’s administration will have to make the final call.

The buses haven't been running for a week. The storm is hitting in the early morning, temperatures dropping. While nothing is cold enough yet for snow to stick at the start, as snow falls and the colder air arrives, everything will cool down. There could be sleet/ice mid-morning. All around crappy type of weather for the buses to drive in and crappy timing to make any predictions. Since the models are changing a lot with each run, they will need to wait until at least this evening to see what the forecast is.

Hopefully they will go with school closed (not virtual) and offices open. Allow people to sort through all the email and figure out each building's operational status. Give staff another day to get tested if needed. I'll gladly trade one of the random professional days (2/1) that are currently off as a make-up day for a snow day now.

Dr. McKnight is still enjoying her extra 7 days of vacation. Schools will open on time for tomorrow because there’s no one to make a decision to close.

No way am I sending kids to school tomorrow. It will be a hot mess. MCPS has lost their collective mind. Monifa just wants the top job and is acting all tough to please the vocal “keep schools open” crowd.

I work at a mid-size MCPS elementary school and we currently have 17 staff members out tomorrow. I hate snow but maybe it is divine intervention LOL.
