charters January plans

What are charters doing post break?

All I know so far is CMI is virtual for 2 weeks and LAMB is following DCPS with an optional rapid test Mon/Tue and school Wed.

Inspired is requiring a negative COVID test dated for Monday or Tuesday. School was cancelled for both days. If you show up on Wednesday without a test on file then you have to take a rapid test on site before entering.

I think it’s the best way to go.

Basis is following DCPS, with school supposedly resuming on Jan 5 after students are "highly encouraged to receive a negative test to return in-person from Winter Break" but are not required. This too:

"All teachers and staff will be on-site January 3rd and 4th to have access to free testing and to work on instructional resources so that pivots are possible and seamless should case rates continue to rise"

Stokes is requiring a negative PCR taken on Jan. 3 in order to start school on Jan. 5. They will offer PCR testing to everyone on the 3rd.

DCB is requiring a negative PCR test taken on Jan. 3 in order to return to school on the 10th. No school on the 3rd and 4th, and virtual school the 5-7th.

There's been no justification for this approach versus the rapid test scheme that DCPS is doing.

Wait what? That seems totally pointless with Omicrons short incubation period.

Why do you care? Your kids obviously aren’t enrolled at DCB.

The rapid test is optional but everyone needs a negative test to return.

Breakthrough is doing this as well. I think it’s a reasonable plan.

Latin is requiring students to come in Monday or Tuesday to be tested for Wednesday start.

Capital City is virtual the first week, negative test required to return on the 10th.

How are parents supposed to get a PCR with a 2 day turn-around?

If this is truly required, this is the smartest one yet.

Mine are and I'm very annoyed that they are wasting resources with no benefits and lots of costs. DCB is not good at this, especially when you see from above that other schools are actually being thoughtful.

Many of the schools requiring a 2 day turnaround are also offering testing on Monday. Otherwise, Curative?
