| Bowser just announced that the indoor mask mandate is baaaaaack. |
Did she also close indoor dining and bars? |
Press conference is ongoing. State of emergency declared. Looks like they are distributing rapid tests throughout the city. |
|
Two free rapid tests per day. 1000 kits per day going to libraries.
|
| Eh. No one here ever stopped wearing them even when it was voluntary, really. |
Only 8 sites with rapid tests though. One in each ward. |
| Mask mandate through January 31. |
Two free...per person? |
Is there a site list? |
Mayor announced this literally 5 minutes ago. |

Errr... What's the population in DC? Are there about 1,000 libraries? |
The slide show says that 1,000,000 rapid tests have been ordered. 42,000 are already available. 200,000 are in transit. And, yes, the city's population is about 700,000. Presumably we would go through the tests in one day. But this is better than nothing. My family and our three guests will try to avail ourselves of our free test to make the one gathering we are having safer than it would have been otherwise. |
| This is probably a good thing. It will go a long way to demonstrate how pointless most masks are. When vaccinated and boosted people are still getting it, you can be sure that fabric mask you can see through if you hold it up to your eye won’t do much of anything. And eventually people will come to realize this. |
| Mask mandate starts Dec 28. How does that help? |
