I think the news is that she's taking a partner. She's alluded to the fact that we'll be seeing her friend Amy more and more on the podcast and she can't wait for us to get to know Amy, who is about as exciting as my 2013 minivan. I think she's just some mom friend of Jen's.

Amy who? Another blogger?

Lol. Sis’s podcast is hanging by a thread, and her team’s big idea to save it is…. adding a co-host we’ve never heard of?

Can I request a transcript of Jane Capstitcher interviewing a 2013 minivan? I think that would be far more entertaining.

ALSO — The latest shill post has one comment.

And her post using “manic episode” as a cutesy funny joke has A LOT of folks calling her out for that (as they should).

I was hoping the new co-host would be Sydney, but I have zero interest in Amy or any other random mom friend. I have my own random mom friends and we are way more interesting than Jane, even with Iceland and the (ahem) boyfriend, who, in case you forgot, is a 6'2" black man with dreads.

It's so, so exciting that evening Tyler decided to grace her post with one of his rare comments.

I figured his comment was just his way of letting us all know (use sing-song voice here) “🎶I know what the news is🎶” 🙄🤦‍♀️😑

Maybe Amy is going to become Jens lady love

As much as I'd be interested to hear what Sydney has to say, I doubt Jen would let her be that transparent on her podcast. Maybe she's bringing her on as a host or interviwer, to bring in some younger viewers. I think Sydney is adorable but I also get the feeling she's trying to distance herself from her mom's attempt at public life.

Jen prolly wishes she were a lesbian. Think of the clicks and sponsorships!

Well, the announcement has been made.... "I have brought my longtime friend, Amy Hardin, to join me. Why? YOU WILL SOON FIND OUT. Trust me, you’re going to love her. She’s a hippie granola homeschooler who is hilarious too. We are laughing more. We’re talking more. We’re digging into more dialogue, more togetherness, more connection."

EWWWWWWWWW.......

Called it.

Ima say it again - Amy has the personality of wet bread or a 2013 Chrysler Minivan. She's the exact right amount of deferential to Jen...although I'm still trying to figure out why she is even remotely interesting.

And, Amy's hair looks exactly like her voice sounds. No offense to anyone who has that hairstyle. I can't explain why seeing her just makes her voice make sense.

Yeah...I'd rather interview the minivan.

Ugh. I AM a hippie granola homeschooler. There are a plethora of fun hippie granola homeschoolers already online and on podcasts.

Also, I don’t know who Amy is, but I love that Sis’s “sneak peak” of her was her arm tattoo. LOL. It has such a “Look what a COOL person I am!” cringe vibe.

I am so confused about this choice. She could have brought in another b-list blogger friend who has a following and would bring more listeners. Shauna, Sarah, Kristen, Jamie, etc would have been insufferable but would have made business sense at least. Or she could have taken the opportunity to bring in a woman of color or a gay dude. But she picked a rando white lady who is private on instagram?

The only way this makes sense is if she's not having to pay her.

If you think about it though there is a long list of podcast hosts who bring in a no-name to sort of be their sidekick without stealing any of the limelight. Dax bringing in Monica. Glennon bringing in her sister who wasn't known at all before the podcast. Busy Philips had that Cassie chic. IIRC Conan O'Brien and Marc Maron both have random unfamous cohosts.

I think Jen wanted to stay the main character, so to do that, she had to bring in someone that no one could/would start following, that would never outshine her, and that would be funny enough to serve up jokes without having any kind of potential to steal the spotlight. It doesn't make business sense but it makes sense for Jen's ego.

I think Jen's viewer and listenership numbers were down and she was exhausted keeping the podcast going on her own. So she's putting a fresh new paint job on it and bringing in a new rando partner to help carry the load, and as stated above, not outshine her. I would imagine its hard being the only voice and face of a podcast. You need a foil and someone to bounce ideas and humor and insights off of with guests.

I don't think this will turn things around honestly only in that Jen, the star, isn't very good at it. She's not a deep thinker and just regurgitates the latest pop therapy wisdom everyone's heard a million times before. She's not very funny n person too. Her humor is really in her writing not in her banter.
