New Additions to Leagues Check Up (ECNL & GA)

This was in motion from last year when they accepted Nationals. ECNL would not have 5 teams from MI in the Midwest conference. so starting 25/26 one would have to go. Hawks would not give up their magic teams so it came down to Liverpool and Midwest and Midwest lost because of weaker performance over their 6 age groups (I don't believe any age group has qualified for champions league). Immediately after the couches conference in Las Vegas they moved their tryouts from June to March 1st to secure as many players as they can from leaving. Even this morning their website and all social media advertised ecnl and RL teams for 2025/26. A club excited to move to the GA would announce this well in advance and not move up their tryouts and cling to ecnl logo's. No club, team, or family in the ecnl view going to the GA as a step up. They've been demoted to Tier 2 (some could argue Tier 3).

Ehhhh they also have MLS Next. Maybe that was the reason too..

Tier three like the division of soccer your kid plays. Go back to Peoria our whatever flyover state you are typing from. Rock on Wayne!

And if they really want to relegate then they should go look at the south east.

Some of those Florida teams are so bad.

A team cannot change to the GA logo until GA tells them. They moved their tryouts up because they are not limited to the ECNL rules anymore

Highland FC was added to the ECNL Mid-Atlantic Conference. Get ready to drive to Asheville!

Midwest United is a great middle of the pack club. Will be a great add to GA.

Wonder what other clubs may be looking to jump.

I hope there’s another announcement tomorrow

which means they will now dominate in the GA

And Highland FC will allow the top tier clubs in ECNL to continue to dominate.

Is this a real new ECNL club in the Mid-Atlantic? Nova clubs are gonna drive eight hours each way for a club nobody's ever heard of?

Mid West is a big MLS and now GA club—nationally known. Highland? Even clubs in Carolina have no clue who they are.

They may have been kicked out, but their 2012 girls team topped the midwest bracket. Also, their announcement was just a few hours ago so not surprising maybe not everything switched.

Also interesting, rumors on this board that Liverpool would go RL. Maybe that's not the case, now.

Regardless whether they stayed ECNL or move to GA that club basically been one of the strongest, if not the strongest, out of West Michigan, confining ECNL to metro Detroit.
