Yet nobody said a thing over the past 10+ years when dozens of billionaire men have done the EXACT SAME THING. It's because it's women you've heard of. Such BS. Such misogyny and such hypocrites.

Plenty of people made fun of them. There are always people mocking rich people amusing themselves and trying to pitch it as some sort of adventure/achievement rather than just burning money

LOL, Lauren wouldn’t have done this without Bezos’ money. Why is everyone acting like it’s a critique on how she spends her money. As of Jeff has nothing to do with it?

Get real.

And yes, when Bezos went up into space I thought he was an idiot with his cowboy hat as well.

Men didn’t televise getting glammed up and singing.

So what? They were having a good time and advertising their friend's company. Who cares? People do this all the time. Again, tons of billionaire men wasting their money on all sorts of things (like hotels and failed casinos, for example) but they just get elected president.

Ok “tons” of billionaire men are not bankrupting casinos and getting elected president. Only one fake billionaire has managed that.

If you're a fan or family member, I'm sure it's hard to see them mocked for their shallowness and vanity. Nonetheless, people aren't gullible and blind to the absurdity of it all. Those women and their preening are a joke.

People are free to spend their money however they want.

If we start policing how people spend their money, you're subject to it as well. That beach vacation? That money could instead go to a scientist or artist who can study or paint the beach and share it with everyone.

They are free to spend their money on any stupid way they want. But they were plastering it all over the media and being all girl power gushy about it and calling themselves a “crew” when they were just tourists being flown around, so yeah they’re gonna get made fun of. If they had just quietly wasted their money without making a spectacle of themselves no one would have cared.

I find this attitude extremely misogynistic.

There are a million things men spend money on that we can point at and say "for what? Those resources can go to something else".

Overall we're fine if men choose to spend their money on season tickets, ATVs, video games, or any other number of wasteful hobbies. But women are expected to put their money towards helping others? Doesn't make sense to me.

I make fun of the men who “climb” Everest while being hauled up on the backs of their Sherpas.

+1 exactly

It's most embarrassing for the actual professionals who were part of the crew. They were between a rock and a hard place, because it's an opportunity of a lifetime, so difficult to turn down, but at the same time, who wants to be associated with the dumb ones?

Men get called out for stupid sh** like this all the time. Didn’t Bezos go into space and get made fun of? Aren’t there memes of Bezos face planting as he runs to open the doors after this 9 minute flight? It’s not just the women. But bragging about glam in space? That makes women look stupid.
Anonymous
PP again and people also criticized the amount of money spent on the search and rescue after the small submarine exploded. People don’t only judge women on how they spend money.
Anonymous
Who are these women getting such extreme plastic surgery for? Does Bezos want a human partner or a living blow up doll?

Is it body dysmorphia on a runaway train where she has regrets but feels too deep into it?

I don’t mean to be a jerk but it seems that you don’t recognize that this happens in regular life too. I would never waste my money and spend as much on a car as my neighbor did, for example. Why did they take *that* vacation- what a waste of money. And so on.

You're absolutely batshit insane if you want to police how your neighbors spend their money.

Again, who cares? Who cares if they sang and danced and gushed and called themselves a crew?

Those are all very female things that girls and women like to do. Why are women being criticized for acting like women? Why are women expected to be quiet and not cause a scene when they have fun?

This is why so many teenage girls don't want to be girls. Because everything feminine is criticized and made fun of.
