Lauren Sanchez

The whole thing was so tone deaf and cringe. This woman just seems evil to me.

Lauren seems so desperate for attention. I don’t get it. Why can’t she just quietly eff her troll in peace without all the stunts?

What awasted opportunity for research. Could have put scientists or artists up there. Someone who will interpret what they experienced and share it with the rest of us. What is the point in going up and down? It's not an amusement park ride.

I find this attitude extremely misogynistic.

There are a million things men spend money on that we can point at and say "for what? Those resources can go to something else".

Overall we're fine if men choose to spend their money on season tickets, ATVs, video games, or any other number of wasteful hobbies. But women are expected to put their money towards helping others? Doesn't make sense to me.

People are free to spend their money however they want.

If we start policing how people spend their money, you're subject to it as well. That beach vacation? That money could instead go to a scientist or artist who can study or paint the beach and share it with everyone.

Do right in space that you didn't in earth. Don't trash it and pollute it like our home planet.

The participants made it a flight about women. I’m not familiar with situations where men spending this money make it about men. In fact, if they did, I’m pretty sure I’d see the backlash.

Honestly if it was a group of all female scientists, I’d applaud it. But I don’t worship at the cult of celebrity, so this was a self indulgent waste.

It is an amusement park ride, though. No one's doing research in 11 minutes in orbit (I don't think it even counts as space)

I don’t mean to be a jerk but it seems that you don’t recognize that this happens in regular life too. I would never waste my money and spend as much on a car as my neighbor did, for example. Why did they take *that* vacation- what a waste of money. And so on.

But does your neighbor do a media run promoting his car purchase lol?

And if he did, it would be all the more reason for me to criticize him!

Yet nobody said a thing over the past 10+ years when dozens of billionaire men have done the EXACT SAME THING. It's because it's women you've heard of. Such BS. Such misogyny and such hypocrites.

Bezos is trying to make space tourism a thing, so it's very much akin to an amusement park ride.
