Which companies in the metro DC area offer good pay with stock options?
I got several offers, but none seems high paying. |
| Walmart Labs |
| consulting firms, Bloomberg, Amazon |
| What is high paying? I am a Software manager and can tell you if your expectations are realistic. I can tell you though that Capitol One pays well. |
| Overall package 300k+ per year. |
Full stack? |
Cap one pen testing pays well |
Good luck with that. Move to the west coast! |
You'll have to clear tier 1,2 interview at a senior level for this TC. If you're tied to the area, you'll only have options from remote since there aren't any companies here other than Facebook who pay that much for senior level. |
Likely this is a combination of: 1. You are not in the right place. This is DC, not Silicon Valley. 2. You do not have the right background. Also, before you say you can go remote, know that FAANG has been "remote' for a while but some of their top tier engineers working on the highly-paid, prestigious teams have been going in to the office as necessary. My brother is senior FAANG engineer who works on something high profile where a lot of the things around it are top-secret and he does need to go into a secure office in Silicon Valley some. |
Just because you are a "software engineer" does not mean you are qualified for jobs with this comp. |
LOL |
That’s not a concern, of course I’ll need to be qualified. Plus it’s just 50k above what I make now. I only want to know where to look. |
Just $50K? That’s a 20% raise. |
Where do you work now making $250k? I’m a GS14 and would love to move up $100k! |
