Left organic, sugar free jam out for a few days in the pantry

Anonymous
Instead of putting it into the fridge.

My question is should I throw it away? It smells okay but I'm not sure. I know regular sugar jam keeps at room temperature for a little while but not sure about this

How can it be organic and sugar free?

I would think sugar would make it more likely to spoil, not less, but if you mean something like agave I wouldn’t know.

Not sure I understand the question. Organic just means no pesticides and sugar free = they didn't add any sugars, which would include agave

Sugar is a preservative, so it helps food stay stable longer.

Do you mean no added sugar? Like a jam made with just fruit? Or do you mean something with no sugar, in which the fruit sugar has been replaced with aspartame or something?

Yep! You got it now.

Aspartame is not organic, PP. 🤦🏼‍♀️

How was it packages? Was it in a sealed jar?

Ok so that’s not sugar free jam. It’s got a ton of sugar and it would be fine left out like that.

And fruit isn’t sugar free. So she clearly was wrong about it either being either sugar free or organic. Now we have clarified which one.

If it smells fine, it is fine.

Obviously the OP meant added sugar free. Are simple things generally this difficult for you to comprehend?

LOL! It is sugar free jam. Anyway... does anyone who seems to have awareness of these things have any commentary? Maybe someone who already knows what "organic" means?

It is in a sealed jar! I used it once, sealed it again and mistakenly put it back in the cabinet rather than the fridge.

If it was open don’t use it.

Taste it and then if it tastes good..eat it. The whole reason jam was invented was to preserve fresh fruit for a longer period of time than it would otherwise spoil.
