Our nanny started with is in January and has a substantial annual bonus written into her contract so we don’t want to give her cash. She’s not a fan of gift cards.
In the past we’ve given her these running she’s she loves, books (avid reader) and a couple sweaters we’ve never seen her wear. She doesn’t wear much jewelry. Any fresh ideas? Thanks! |
Well you might not be interested in giving her cash.....but I can't believe that she wouldn't like it. |
Cash is always the right size! |
Cashhhhhh |
OP again. Please. Other than cash. Her annual bonus comes two weeks after Christmas and she spends Christmas morning with us. I need ideas of gifts she can open. |
iPad
New jacket or coat-Patagonia Purse New sunglasses White sneakers |
Apple Watch. As a nanny, this is the best gift my employers ever gave me. |
Why would a nanny want white sneakers? |
+1. And fun socks. My charges love seeing me wear the funny socks they’ve given me. |
They’re really in style. Like golden goose, supergas or similar. |
Like white Keds? |
+1 great ideas! |
Cashmere hat and mittens
nice scarf (winter type not fashion type) Apple Watch plus iTunes card for first 6 mos service Nice travel mug with coffee or tea gift basket Candles, lotions, blanket from anthro |
Not white keds. This is a tricky buy- but vans or converse are probably safe, maybe adidas Stan smith |
YMMV, but we've always done a gift that's more of a token (~$30) and made the bonus larger. The types of gifts I've given are: scarf, vase, fancy glass ornament.
I generally don't like giving adults purse, shoes, clothes types gifts, because they are so personal. My observation is that recipients rarely like these gifts as much as the giver thinks they will. |
