This is what Virginians voted for I guess. I hope it works out for you:

Two board members, Courtland representative Rabih Abuismail and Livingston representative Kirk Twigg, said they would like to see the removed books burned.

“I think we should throw those books in a fire,” Abuismail said, and Twigg said he wants to “see the books before we burn them so we can identify within our community that we are eradicating this bad stuff.”

...

The book, “33 Snowfish” by Adam Rapp, concerns three homeless teenagers attempting to escape from pasts that include sexual abuse, prostitution and drug addiction.

Publisher’s Weekly described “33 Snowfish,” which the American Library Association named a Best Book for Young Adults in 2004, as a “dark tale about three runaways who understand hatred and violence better than love” and noted “readers may have trouble stomaching the language” and the subject matter.

Who are the "snowflakes" again?

70% of the DC area did not vote for this.

The GOP isn’t fascist at all, they have literally nothing in common with the Nazis and they certainly don’t share the same ideology as them.

Here is video of the school board members arguing to burn books:

Way to shoot yourselves in the foot, guys. Hope your kids have a good shot at the local trades, because any half decent college is going to write off the entire district as substandard.

What's wrong with kids learning about sexual abuse, drug addiction, and prostitution. They are likely to encounter all of this in their teens.

At any point we could agree that the media is actively carrying the GOP’s water for them. That would be a good place from which to start instead of gaslighting ourselves that “this is what the people wanted.” Bull. The GOP media has been enjoying the “Biden is bad and so are all the Democrats” message since Afghanistan. They knew the outcome they wanted and they got it.

In cases like this, its just an interpretation of the facts. No one disputes the topic of these books or that these books are in the schools. People will differ on whether or not its actually appropriate for children to read. That isn't some right wing conspiracy

That's the GOP for you. The anti-intellectual party. Keep voting for them, women and "concerned moms." This should help your children's education.

But no one is forcing the kids to read these books. It's a book in the library, along with a couple thousand other titles. And yeah, teenagers should read about the dangers of sex abuse - it's an issue that a huge percentage teens will deal with in their life. The book in question is about three runaway teens who experienced abuse and forge a friendship.

I find burning books unacceptable, but then I’m not fascist-curious.

I assume this was sarcasm.
