Sounds like they got a call about a shooter so they locked down just in case.

That’s what I heard from another parent.

It is home coming week, could it be a horribly stupid prank? My DC made it home with some friends. No communication from school.

Dear W-L Staff and Families,

We received an anonymous call this morning during arrivals claiming that there was a shooter in the building. While there is no evidence of an immediate threat, we immediately locked the building down and notified the Arlington County Police Department. The ACPD is on the scene investigating to ensure the building is safe. All students are in a secure location. Students arriving have been temporarily moved to a safe location offsite while the ACPD conduct their investigation.

We will inform you as soon as further details are known.

My DD and her friends came home. She said buses were taking kids home so they left too. Just got the official word from W-L that school is closed today.

They said everyone has been sent home. Students who need rides were being sent to Hamm MS to be picked up there. Kids who drove to school cannot access the parking garage so will need a ride.

Taking them to HAMM is fricking IDIOTIC. Yes- we don't know if shooter or suspect is in that crowd so lets drop him off at the Middle school.

The staging area should be off-campus ACROSS the street from WL in that empty lot.

I am so glad this is the last year for my MS in APS.
